๐ฐ๏ธ Do you remember the Santa Rosa Restaurant in Pace?
Back when Highway 90 was the heartbeat of the area, Betty Hill poured her heart into a true family business right in front of the Santa Rosa Motel near Air Products. She opened Santa Rosa Restaurant for the love of her little girl, Starla โ even knocking a hole in the wall for an adjoining apartment so she could keep a crib in the back and stay close while running the place.
This was real home cooking, the old-timey way. Customers raved about Bettyโs country-style vegetables, hamburger steak, chicken and dumplings, beans and greens, Western omelettes loaded with ham, sausage, bacon, cheese, tomato, onion, and bell pepper. For lunch, four meats and ten vegetables to choose from, plus fresh desserts like peach cobbler and banana pudding. And donโt forget the โbest coffee and tea in town.โ
Long-time locals like Willie Turner kept coming back for the good food, good people, and good service โ he even named his favorite cheeseburger the โWillieburgerโ!
