For immediate release from the Town of Milton.

Town of Milton ballot printing error

Editor’s note: Town Clerk, Susan M. Galvin, has issued the following press release.

Town Clerk, Susan M. Galvin is notifying voters of a printing issue outside of the Town's control concerning certain ballots for the upcoming April 28, 2026 Annual Town Election. Specifically, the Town Clerk was notified that the error will make it likely that the vote tabulators will be unable to process vote-by-mail and absentee ballots mailed between April 9, 2026, and April 14, 2026. The vendor has already corrected the error, is reprinting ballots, and will expedite their delivery to the Town.

We want to be clear: all votes will be counted. Voters who have received ballots during this time are not required to take any further action. Voters who receive ballots on or after April 20, 2026 will not be impacted, and this issue will not affect in-person absentee voting or Election Day voting.

Ballots issued between April 9, 2026 and April 14, 2026 and returned to the Office of the Town Clerk will be securely transported to their designated polling locations on Election Day. The impacted ballots will be hand-counted at the close of polls in the same manner as any other hand-count and write-in ballots. The counting process is conducted at the polls in view of the public in strict accordance with safeguards established by the Massachusetts General Laws and the Secretary of the Commonwealth's regulations to ensure accuracy, transparency, and integrity.

This is to confirm that the Town Clerk and her team, after receiving notice from the print vendor, immediately implemented procedures to ensure that every ballot properly cast will be counted.

Any voter who has already returned their ballot or receives a ballot over the next few days is urged to contact the Office of the Town Clerk with any questions.

We understand the importance of public confidence in our elections and are committed to maintaining a secure, fair, and accurate voting process.

For questions or additional information, please contact Town Clerk, Susan M. Galvin.

Need to dispose of your electronics and small appliances?
TUES., April 21
Electronics and appliances recycling event

Milton Academy invites Town of Milton residents to participate in its commitment to environmental sustainability. In celebration of Earth Day, the school will host an electronics and appliances collection event on Tuesday, April 21, from 2 to 3 p.m., and then 4 to 5 p.m. The school’s community is pleased to open the opportunity to Town of Milton residents. Last year, residents helped the school nearly fill two 30-foot trucks with e-waste.

“Milton Academy maintains a strong institutional commitment to environmental sustainability,” said Heidi Vanderbilt-Brown, Milton’s Chief Financial and Operating Officer. “Appropriate collection and recycling of electronics and appliances helps protect our environment by limiting the release of harmful toxins into the soil, reducing climate emissions, and preserving natural resources. Inviting our Town of Milton neighbors to participate in our e-waste recycling event will make this important effort have an even bigger impact.”

Participants can drop off and recycle unwanted electronics and appliances, including computers and computer parts, flat screen televisions, cell phones, camera/video and audio equipment, microwaves, toasters, and more. A full list of items eligible for drop-off — free of charge — is available on the school’s website at www.milton.edu/recycle. The school asks that Town residents use the noted time windows to avoid congestion with dismissal traffic.

Eco-friendly junk removal companies estimate that e-waste recycling events of a similar nature can divert between one and two tons of e-waste material from landfills.

Town of Milton resident vehicles should enter via the campus’ Chapel Road entrance off of Centre Street and follow signage to the school’s Wolcott House parking spaces near the Robert Saltonstall Gym. Drop-off will be permitted through 5 p.m. (excluding 3 to 4 p.m.) or until the recycling truck is full. Vehicles may exit campus via Academy Road.

Travel advisory MassDOT - 3/26/26

"Road to 26 Brazil vs. France Friendly Match on March 26

Contraflow lane will be deployed on Route 1; drivers are encouraged to expect delays and avoid travel in the area if possible

FOXBOROUGH — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is advising members of the public to plan ahead and expect potential delays in the vicinity of Foxborough and Gilette Stadium ahead of the Road to 26 Brazil vs. France Friendly Match on Thursday, March 26. Motorists and public transportation customers should utilize mass511.com and mbta.com/Gillette for real-time travel information on major statewide roads and MBTA schedule information before leaving for their destinations.

“Ahead of the Brazil versus France friendly match on March 26, we’re expecting increased traffic volumes on roadways approaching Foxborough, including Route 1, I-95, and I-495.” said Undersecretary and State Highway Administrator Jonathan Gulliver. “For fans, visitors, commuters, and anyone else expecting to travel through the area on matchday, we encourage everyone to drive safely and without distractions, plan ahead, and allow for extra time.”

MassDOT is taking steps to ensure safe and efficient travel on state-owned roadways before and after the match. The contraflow lane will be deployed on Route 1 to reduce congestion between the interchange of Route1 and I-95 and I-495. In addition, non-emergency maintenance work will not take place in the vicinity of Foxborough on Thursday night, March 26.

Travelers planning to utilize public transportation to attend the match are advised to visit mbta.com/Gillette for ticketing and schedule information. The MBTA is operating four event trains between South Station in Boston and Gillette/Foxboro Stadium. More information on MBTA trains is available here.
