It’s been 2 years since we have seen her, her human called after a few negative interactions. She wanted and needed to address. Having Delta spend the day with me and some of her old friends. Let’s me see where she is at.

Delta Rae ✈️

Today, Delta Rae had a full-day training evaluation, and her human drove all the way from Central Vermont just for her!

Training Background:

• Puppy and foundational training graduate of APEX

• Adolescent socialization APEX Pack program graduate

🚛 Life Changes:

• Moved to Virginia for work

• Experienced some tough moments, like being charged by other dogs

• Has become a bit defensive around other dogs, especially about her space and toys

✨ For today’s evaluation, Delta rejoined her old pack, Maddie, Bailee, and Arrow, to assess her new baseline, stress thresholds, body language, and recovery time.

We even took a trip to Church Street to see how Delta handled stress after having her needs met. She showed trust in my leadership and responded well to cues!

What’s next for Delta?

Play training, urban agility, and more relationship building!

The best part? Her obedience is still strong, we just need to help her bounce back from these big changes.

🚫 Food Drive?! 🥩

We hear this concern from many clients:

“My dog won't take a treat, but the trainer keeps trying to offer one.”

It’s important to remember that a dog’s food drive can shut down due to stress, especially in sensitive or behavioral cases.

Sometimes, it’s not about hunger at all.

When working with behavioral dogs, we don’t feed them from a bowl on the floor. Instead, we hand-feed them, using each piece of food as an opportunity for training, connection, and building drive.

🤔 Ask yourself:

How many pieces of kibble are in a cup?

How many of those are simply given away, instead of being used as valuable training opportunities?

Let’s make every bite count, turn mealtime into a moment for learning and bonding!

👏 As our humans come together, we wag our tails with pride, they give their best each day so we can chase soccer balls on sunny fields, curl up beside them during life’s biggest moments, and be part of every adventure.

We might just be dogs, but to us, this team is family, and every game or milestone is sweeter with them by our side. 🐾
