The federal government shutdown ended on November 12, 2025. SNAP recipients can look for their November federal benefits to be added to their EBT cards as early as Tuesday, November 18, 2025.

If you need support, community food resources remain available through the Food Bank of Delaware, State Service Centers, and by calling Delaware 211.

We’re honored to welcome Marvelyn Brown, an HIV activist who prides herself on ending stigma, to our World AIDS Day Vigil on Monday, Dec. 1, 5–6 PM at First and Central Presbyterian Church.

Diagnosed with HIV at 19, and having little knowledge of the virus, Brown didn’t know HIV could be contracted through heteros*xual s*x. Since then, she has become a powerful voice in HIV prevention and advocacy, inspiring audiences across the globe through her speeches, her Emmy-winning PSA, and her autobiography, The Naked Truth: Young, Beautiful, and (HIV) Positive.

Her work has been recognized by BET, the Magic Johnson Foundation, and numerous media outlets, cementing her as a leading figure in the fight against HIV/AIDS. Join us to hear her story of courage, hope, and her journey with activism.
