Mid-run, I witnessed a cautionary tale: do not get too close to the wild turkeys! I saw a man chase three large turkeys trying to get a pic with his phone. Those turkeys whipped around, fanned their feathers and started coming for him while yelling. Yikes!

Always give wildlife plenty of space and watch for cues. If they seem at all uncomfortable, back away. And never chase for a pic!

I kept procrastinating on getting out for these miles thinking I could avoid the rain. Finally decided, what’s the hold up? You LIKE running in the rain!

Naturally once I laced up and got out the door, there was no rain - just a few drops here and there 💦

It ended up being a pretty good run. Pushed myself a little more than usual since the rain clouds were hovering above. I had a feeling if I stopped for a moment, that’s when the rain would come down 😂

These past few weeks have been all about how quickly I can get from Point A to Point B - and not just with running. My to-do list has been longer than ever - and I hate leaving tasks unchecked so it’s been a hustle every day to get everything done. I know I’m not unique in this - you might be scrambling to check things off your list at this very moment!

Today, things slowed down a bit and I was able to really relax during my midday miles. Felt good to enjoy the sights and sounds and being present. While I’ve been racing ahead to get to my next task, I didn’t even notice the tulips are up, the magnolia trees have blossomed, birds have built their nests and the sun is up just that much earlier.

I still need to get from Point A to Point B - but I’m going to remind myself it’s okay to take the scenic route now & then. Stop and smell the flowers, then race ahead to the next item on the list 🌷

If there’s one guarantee in life, it’s that nothing stays the same forever. Things are always changing. Sometimes it’s small changes that you don’t even notice in the moment. Other times it’s larger changes that maybe seem daunting in the moment. But with change you can choose to worry about what’s to come or embrace the unknown. I believe change can be a good thing - it’s necessary to move forward, to make progress, to grow.

The season is changing from winter to spring. And I’m ready for all the change that is coming ❤️

65 degrees this morning. 42 degrees when I got out for this run. At least I beat the rain 🙌🏻

While running, I saw several turkey vultures. Not a usual sighting around here so it was interesting to see them. Much bigger than the robins and red winged blackbirds I typically see!
