Dhaka, Bangladesh – 25 July, 2025

Thousands of Muslims gathered in Dhaka after Friday prayers to protest the recent approval of a United Nations Human Rights Office in Bangladesh.

Carrying placards and chanting slogans, demonstrators criticized the UN for its failure to act during humanitarian crises in Gaza, Afghanistan, Syria, and other Muslim-majority regions.

“Where was the UN when Gaza was under daily bombardment?” one protester asked. “Did it stop the war? Did it protect the innocent? No.”

Many also voiced concern over the UN’s emphasis on issues such as LGBTQ rights, arguing that such agendas conflict with Bangladesh’s religious and cultural values.

“They speak of human rights but promote ideas that contradict our faith,” said another protester. “We reject this.”

Protesters called on authorities to revoke the decision to approve the OHCHR office, warning that it could pave the way for ideological interference under the pretext of promoting human rights.

আজ সকালে থাইল্যান্ড ও কাম্বোডিয়ার মধ্যকার বিতর্কিত সীমান্ত এলাকায় ভয়াবহ সংঘর্ষ ছড়িয়ে পড়ে।

সূত্র জানায়, Ta Muen Thom মন্দিরের কাছে সকালেই কাম্বোডিয়ার ড্রোন সনাক্ত করা হয়। এরপর সশস্ত্র সেনারা অগ্রসর হয়ে সকাল ৮:২০টায় গুলি চালানো শুরু করে।

থাই সরকার অভিযোগ করেছে, BM-21 রকেট দিয়ে কাম্বোডিয়া বেসামরিক লক্ষ্যবস্তুতে হামলা চালিয়েছে।

তবে কাম্বোডিয়ার নেতা হুন সেন দাবি করেন, তারা প্রথমে গুলি চালায়নি।

থাই সরকারের মতে,

- এই সংঘর্ষে একজন থাই বেসামরিক নাগরিক নিহত হয়েছেন,

- এবং থাই সেনাবাহিনীর সাতজন সদস্য আহত হয়েছেন।

- সংঘর্ষ থাইল্যান্ডের উত্তর-পূর্বাঞ্চল ঘেঁষা ছয়টি ভিন্ন সীমান্তস্থানে ছড়িয়ে পড়ে।

এরই মধ্যে, থাই বিমান বাহিনী F-16 যুদ্ধবিমান দিয়ে কাম্বোডিয়ান সামরিক ঘাঁটিগুলিতে পাল্টা আঘাত হানে।
