Exciting news! I'll be performing 3 private solo showcases at the Folk Alliance Region Midwest (FARM) Conference in Chicago later this month. I'll be joined by the lovely and talented Alex Stewart on pipes, flutes, and whistles. And I'll also be sitting in on percussion with my friends Mac and Cheese Band and The Hounds of Finn.

I'm looking forward to lots of great live music, making new friends, and learning a lot about the folk music biz. Big thanks to Celtic Junction Arts Center, Astor Street Agency, Pete McCauley, and Leslie Rich for making this all possible.

Blackwillow Starling are happy to announce that we will be making multiple appearances at the Folk Alliance Gathering and Presenter Summit (FARM) this October 23rd - 26th, in Lisle, IL.

We will be performing sets at Astor Street Agency room, Celtic Junction Arts Center room, and one for the FARM event itself. Our full schedule, with exact days/times, announced soon.

Irish-born, Canadian-based folk band Michael Darcy & The Atlantic Tramps are excited to announce the release of their new studio album Homemade, which will be available everywhere from July 9th.

In 2010, Michael packed up his songs and guitar, left his home in the hills of Co. Clare and journeyed westward across the ocean to Toronto, Canada. Chasing adventure and tunes, he eventually connected with three like-minded musicians who would become ‘The Atlantic Tramps’. The result was a whirlwind of transatlantic folk traditions as Michael’s songs carry the earthy tones of his west Clare roots, combined with the freshness of Americana’s evolving path.

Their most recent critically-acclaimed album Down to the Roots earned a 2023 Canadian Folk Music Awards nomination for ‘Traditional Singer of the Year’ while his original song The Ballad of Uncle Frank was nominated for ‘Song of the Year’ at the 2023 Ontario Folk Music Awards.

Over the past two summers, the band has steadily grown a devoted fanbase in the U.S. performing at multiple celtic festivals & theatres, all while maintaining a busy touring schedule in their Ontario, Canada home base. They also embarked on a successful Irish tour in August 2023 culminating in a packed show at Dublin’s historic Cobblestone venue.

Introducing Michael Darcy & The Atlantic Tramps from Ontario, Canada!

A whirlwind of Transatlantic folk traditions. From meaningful ballads to roof-raising barnstormers, the energy and emotion of their music shine through when Michael Darcy & The Atlantic Tramps hit the stage.

After releasing his impressive solo debut Simple Drop of Rain in 2018, Canadian-based Irish folk singer-songwriter Michael Darcy returned to the studio with his new band, ‘The Atlantic Tramps,’ in tow for the eagerly awaited follow-up album, Down to the Roots. Released in July 2022 to critical acclaim, Irish Music Magazine raved that “Darcy’s originals sit so comfortably within the genre that you’d swear they’ve been around for generations.” The album also garnered a 2023 Canadian Folk Music Awards nomination for ‘Traditional Singer of the Year,’ while his original song “The Ballad of Uncle Frank” was nominated for ‘Song of the Year’ at the 2023 Ontario Folk Music Awards. We are excited to announce that we will be attending the Southeast Regional Folk Alliance from May 14th to 18th. We will also be hosting our first-ever SERFA Private Showcase featuring a few of the artists who will be attending the conference! We will be hosting the private showcases on the evenings of Friday, May 16th, and Saturday, May 17th. We will be in the Yoakam Conference Room. Please come visit to learn more about Astor Street Agency, our artists, and the artists we will be showcasing! We look forward to learning from the different industry professionals and artists. Introducing Blackwillow Starling!

Blackwillow Starling, a Milwaukee-based acoustic duo, performs Pagan, folk, and Celtic music. Nora and Michael "Tinker" Tierney bring decades of experience in national and international playing and performance.

Their debut album, released in June 2024, has garnered acclaim, including top chart positions on Pagan and folk radio. They’ve appeared at Pagan Spirit Gathering, the International Pagan Music Awards, and will attend WinterStar, Paganicon, Starwood, and more festivals in 2025.

Their music streams on all major platforms and features on Pagan and folk media outlets, such as International Pagan Radio, The Cauldron, CeltCast, DruidCast, Irish and Celtic Music Podcast, and Full Moon Circle with Circle Sanctuary.

Their album was ranked #13 for folk albums of 2024 by “What the Folk is This?” Radio. Songs like "The Answerer Sword," "Sun King," and "Wild Mountain Thyme" achieved top chart positions, with "The Answerer Sword" holding #1 for two weeks. They received a 2025 nomination for Pagan band of the year at the International Pagan Music Awards.
