Beyond excited to announce a new publication coming just in time for Trashland Zinefest! by Chicago’s own Sour Puss !! Sour Puss is a food project centered around q***rness and collective wellbeing. Utilizing cooking as a creative discipline, our goal is to collaborate with artists and spaces to prioritize community care and celebration.

Meet the duo behind the project:

Amy Niehaus (she/her) is a midwest cook based in Chicago, IL. With a background in breads, laminated goods, and pastries, Amy merges her desire for self expression with the grounding practice of feeding others. Alongside Sour Puss, Amy is currently a baker at Hexe Coffee Company.

Hudson Caroline (he/him) is a Chicago-based artist and cook who centers his practice around the power of existing in the present moment. He works to translate his experiences through thoughtful preparation of seasonal ingredients, creative menus, and symbolic tablescapes. Alongside Sour Puss, Hudson currently works for Txa Txa Club.

I make zines to share stories & fight the fast paced consumerism that constantly surrounds us, so getting the chance to spread them and be in a space to do it with you all is the cherry on top. Thank you for supporting zines & independent makers & for all of your love toward our table!! Thank you to for another special collab on one of their most important days of the year!! And thank you for all of the extra sweet love toward my personal zine release this fest “for the love of violets!!💕💟💝

People always come up to the Moody table asking me “is all of this your work?” and even though I loooove publishing, curating, & designing I’ve wished for awhile I had something of just my own to show. So I made it a goal to do just that for & here she is!!

“for the love of violets” is a beautiful little 8ish” x 10” zine risoprinted in orchid & kelly green with a small full color print insert. Just in time for spring blooming, it’s my little fanzine about all things violet - personal stories, fun facts, recipes, identification, & more. I hope you’ll come grab one to take home with you & fall in love with violets too💟
