Our new building isn’t finished yet, but the operation has started.

Yesterday I went back to an old system that always worked for me: get a strong first day in, then give it two focused hours a day until completion.

Now things are getting moved into the space built for them.

Still plenty left to do, but this is the point where the building stops being a project and starts doing its job🙌🏾

A New Building, a Flood, and 965 Visitors.

I’ve shared pieces of this story here, but I haven’t really shown y’all the full picture.

August included a new building details, estate work, renovations, a commercial design project, flooding at BC Modern, a whole lot of behind-the-scenes problem-solving—and 965 people coming through our doors.

I’m starting to use YouTube to slow down and tell these stories properly. Not just what I’ve found or how something turned out, but what it actually takes to build and operate BC Modern

Working on our new building. A flood. 965 visitors. And somehow, all of it happened within 30 days.

August gave me plenty to be proud of, but it also tested me physically, mentally and as a business owner.

Found this old double-sided Bell System porcelain fl**ge sign hiding in a garage today. This is exactly why I’m always willing to look through garages, basements & attics.

I’ve been a little quiet on here lately.

Not because nothing has been happening….In reality it’s been the exact opposite.

The last month has been one thing after another—some really good, some stressful and a whole lot happening behind the scenes that most people never see.

Today’s the first day I’ve had a little room to slow down, look around and really think about everything that just happened.

I’m tired, but I’m good🙏🏾

I’m really excited about where all of this is going!

Painting is officially done at the BCM Studio, and yesterday I finished the blue carpet in what will be my office.

Ignore that one lonely shelf 😂 This room is no way near finished but now it’s clean slate.

Now I get to start putting this place together around how I actually work.

Knowing me, this office will probably end up with more vintage than office supplies…🤔
