DAYBREAK makes it to — with a little help from

We’ve spent years on year in grimy and sticky basement and corner bar clubs, and to get the nod to help tell the stories of a crew like at the hollowed grounds of the Ryman is something we don’t take lightly.

Our feature piece with “Heavy Eyes” is in print in DAYBREAK V.7.

Jackson in a Jackson gondola with our buds - along with their feature in V.7, (keys x vocals) crafted a playlist for us that took us on one hell of a wild western leaning ride.

7.02 Houndmouth is spinning now on the DAYBREAK Spotify - Link in our bio.

This Friday, makes their debut at the hallowed grounds of the — we heard there’s a handful of extra tickets floating around, so if you’re in Nash, you best be at the Ryman.

Static w/ in the mountains of Montana for Live at the Landscape Lounge.

is a four-piece string band from Minnesota and Montana who threads the needle as the dance and stomp between folk, bluegrass, and indie.

We first met The Last Revel 8 years ago when our best friend drunkenly snuck into their green room after a sold out show. She ended up being more enamored by the plated grapes than the boys, so while I was pulling her off the vines the guys and I hit it off. That intrusive interaction somehow blossomed into a handful of my most cherished friendships to date.

The Last Revel just released their 6th studio record, Gone for Good, produced by of - We had the privilege of joining them in the studio as they recorded at in Cannon Falls, MN. With their most complete and concise record to date, The Last Revel is taking their biggest swing yet.

Cornelia Murr’s latest album began with a question: “What do I want?” The answer was everything, and it had never felt more urgent.

On her first LP in six years, Run To The Center, the London-born singer-songwriter delivers her most confident, expansive album yet. Across 10 hypnotic pop songs is a fully realized portrait of a woman and an artist in her thirties, standing triumphantly in uncertainties, asking the crucial questions one needs to sustain a life: How can you fit everything you want into a life? How can you do this if you want so much?

In V.7, we dive into the making a house in Nebraska a home, searching for everything, and her new record, Run to the Center.

Published in DAYBREAK V.7 and online now.

All the money we were savin’ has gone into these these mags, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

As summer chugs on, we’re clearing out space for a big ole shipment of mags coming this fall. If you’re feeling kind, lend us a hand and grab a back issue.

(We’re also down to less than 100 copies of V.7 left, so grab ‘em now before they’re gone for good 🍻)

This summer has kicked our ass. We couldn’t be more thankful, because we’ve been busier than we can handle, but with buzzing a bit of attention has been pulled away from the mag and our socials. Starting now, we’re righting that ship and you’ll start seeing what we’ve been up to, but with that comes some helpful news:

The DAYBREAK V.8 submissions deadline is pushed back to August 10th.

We’re so thankful to everyone who submitted ahead of the original deadline. Your precious time, energy, and thoughtfulness does not go unnoticed, and we’ll be reaching out to you all to make sure we get a past volume of the mag sent out as a thank you from us.

With that said, the rest of you slackers get at it! We hope to hear from ya soon.

A big wave docuseries that’s not a surf project.

We sat down with executive producer to dive into crafting a surf docuseries that stands alone from the crowd, working alongside a cast of characters of the likes of , , , , , and more, and cutting 3500 hours of film down to a five and a half hour long series.

The third season of their beautifully captured series is out now on - it’d been awhile since we attentively watched a full series in one go, and are happy we made the time for it.

We don’t published written only work in our mags, but in V.7 .smith wrote something eloquent and impactful enough for us to break that rule.

One’s introduction to the backcountry—let alone guiding and backcountry emergencies—is a personal and transformative experience that often coincides with so many interpersonal changes during those finicky teenage years.

In “Learning to Fly,” .smith gives us an insight into both of those experiences for her, and how that changed the trajectory of all her years to come.
smith is a creative producer and outdoor educator based in Boulder, CO. With years of experience leading groups through rugged landscapes, she specializes in risk management, technical skills, and fostering meaningful connections in the outdoors.

“Learning to Fly” is a feature in DAYBREAK V.8 - out now.
