A little bit about me:
A love of photography has led me to many adventures and jobs, and JRQ Photo Digitization And Restoration is only the latest.
I got into the practice of analog photography around 2016 when I discovered a stray 35mm film camera in the house. Learning the practice was an uphill battle, but it was fun, and it came with a host of other problems to solve, like how I get each photo from the film strips into a usable digital format to share with the world.
Transmitting the data from film strips to our computers is a bit more involved than you may think. Getting a rudimentary scan is easy enough, but tailoring the color settings is another story if you want to ensure your final document is as close to the original as possible.
I solved that problem when I learned how to use professional scanning equipment at university. The process, to me, was much better than what is offered at a convenience store like CVS or Walgreens.
By opting to get my film developed at a local shop, and then scanning it myself, I could keep my negatives and tailor the color mixes to perfection (a habit I found was lacking in other services.)
To keep up with the number of negatives I was developing and scanning, I purchased my friend's professional scanner from him a few years back. It's the same technology as my university's (an Epson Perfection V600 Photo) and it has long come in handy.
I'm happy to now open up my time, skills and technology to others in need of quality scans for their old photo prints or film strips.
Instead of going out and purchasing the expensive equipment yourself, send your negatives and photos my way for an affordable digitization process. Get in touch for a quote today.
