7/23 5:38AM Tracking an areas of storms that continues to move into southeast Wisconsin. The question remains how much of it will hold together as it moves closer to the lake and in a less favorable area for storms. That being said, plan for the chance of scattered rain and storms (especially in western areas) this morning. Activity will move out by the lunch hour or slightly before. Heavy rain, lightning, and gusty winds will be the main threats.

7/22 11:08pm: There is a chance for thunderstorms Wednesday morning then hot and humid with temperatures in the 90s and heat indices in the 100s. Similar Thursday, then a cold front in the evening will drop temperatures Friday. There is still a chance for thunderstorms at times Friday and Saturday. Heating back up early next week. 7/22 8:30pm: Could have a few thunderstorms Wednesday morning as the warm front arrives (although they may end up staying north/west of us), then the Heat Advisory kicks in at 11am. Expect temperatures in the 90s, dewpoints in the 70s and feel like temperatures in the 100s. Looks slightly better Thursday, but southern spots could still feel like 100s. -Stephanie

7/22 As of 12:36PM a heat advisory is issued from 11AM Wednesday to 8PM Wednesday. Heat indices can be as warm as 105F. Not only will heat index values be high in the day, but warm low temperatures in the 70s will make it hard for people to get relief from the uncomfortable conditions. Plan on having a moist air mass sticking around through the weekend.

7/21 10:22pm: Warming up on Tuesday with dangerous swimming conditions on Lake Michigan. Please avoid swimming in the lake. Highs in the 80s. An Excessive Heat Watch is in effect Wednesday & Thursday with a heat index around 106. A cold front comes in late in the day Thursday with some t-storms. While the greatest risk for high waves and strong rip currents will be north of Milwaukee, I would suggest playing it safe across all beaches and swim areas, including in Milwaukee, Racine and Kenosha. 7/21 1:55pm: We're heating up mid to late week! Air temperatures Wednesday and Thursday will reach into the 90s and heat indices will likely reach into the 100s, thanks to high dewpoints in the 70s. An Extreme Heat Watch has been issued for all of SE WI for heat indices up to 106° both days. Storms Thursday evening will bring temperatures back down into the 80s Friday. -Stephanie

7/21 5:36am A colorful sunrise caused by Canadian wildfire smoke in the low and upper levels in the atmosphere. Surface smoke is starting to lessen, but early Monday morning, air quality will range from being unhealthy for sensitive groups to dangerous for everyone. As the thicker smoke moves away, air quality will improve through the day.
