From its beginning in 1998, OnMilwaukee has followed its mission: media that moves.
Nearly 20 years later, its voice and best-in-market engagement (source: Unmetric) have evolved not only local media, but also helped and encouraged national clients to better connect and build community via its innovative online magazine, in-house ad buying platform and agency, Lift Digital.
OnMilwaukee’s dedication to community coverage comes from its commitment to journalistic excellence, as well as the heart and attitude from its 17-person staff that’s propelled it to win six national EPPY Awards. “We’ve diversified our revenue sources, we’re ‘everywhere in the community with our social influencers, and have built deep relationships that matter,” said Jeff Sherman, OnMilwaukee co-founder and president. “When we enhance our footprint and monetize quality reporting, we show that hyperlocal works.”
“It’s about news you can use. We don’t only report on our community, we are a part of the community. In terms of lifestyle coverage, we own it, and the readership grows daily with us,” said Carolynn Buser, content manager.
“Connections and creativity matter. We tell stories that enhance our market, create value for our partners and drive viral shares,” said co-founder and publisher Andy Tarnoff. “Our storytellers make connections with our readers.”
