Something beautiful happened this week; Milwaukee’s first dedicated döner kebab shop has opened on the city’s North Side.

Döner Kebab, located at in the former home of Wing Zone in the River Glen Market Place, brings a beloved European street food to Milwaukee in authentic form.

The fast-casual concept comes from Ray and Elma Ramic, who first launched Döner Kebab in Hartford, Wisconsin, in February 2023.

The city will radiate holiday cheer as Milwaukee Downtown celebrates the 27th annual Milwaukee Holiday Lights Festival.

Four parks will be transformed into winter wonderland scenes: “Community Spirit Park” at Cathedral Square Park; “Santa’s Celebration Square powered by We Energies” at Zeidler Union Square; “¡Felices Fiestas!” at Pere Marquette Park and “Slice of Ice Lights” at Red Arrow Park.

As the Milwaukee County Zoo continues to prep its new $22.6 million Rhino Care Center, two new Eastern Black Rhinos have arrived in town.

Zuri, a 16-year-old female, is from the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden and and Kianga, a 22-year-old male arrives from the Racine Zoo.

After a standard quarantine in the new Ladish Co. Foundation Rhino Care Center, the public will be able to see the new rhinos and their new home.
