🍎 URGENT: HELP FILL THE FOOD GAP IN WISCONSIN 🍎
With more than 700,000 Wisconsinites temporarily losing access to FoodShare benefits due to the government shutdown, Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin has launched the FarmShare Box Program to help families in need.
Each $50 FarmShare Box is filled with fresh, locally grown produce from Wisconsin farms and delivered directly to food pantries—providing up to two weeks of healthy food for a family while also supporting local farmers.

🐾 URGENT: HELP NEEDED FOR 47 CATS & KITTENS 🐾
The Wisconsin Humane Society is making an urgent plea after taking in 47 cats and kittens from a single home — part of a record intake of 121 felines in one day across their locations. The shelter is now caring for more than 1,500 animals, including 1,100 cats, putting a major strain on space and resources.

Adopt: Adult cat adoptions are name your own fee! Kittens have buddy pricing — adopt two, get 50% off the second.

🙌 COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT: FATHERHOOD SUMMIT 2025
I want to take a moment to recognize the powerful work happening through this year’s Fatherhood Summit and the partners behind it — including Dennis Walton, Christal, and the entire team continuing to invest in Milwaukee’s fathers, families, and neighborhoods.
From what I’ve seen and heard, this year’s summit went beyond conversation — it was about action, connection, and healing. One highlight was their outreach around the upcoming Covenant House Sleep Out – Milwaukee (Nov. 18 – Dec. 3 at 21st & Meinecke), a call to action centered on youth advocacy, cultural literacy, and compassion in motion.
These kinds of community-driven efforts are what continue to move our city forward — showing us what it looks like to lead with purpose, unity, and love.

Next weekend, Dennis Walton and HD Community Partners are teaming up with Concordia 27 Near West Side Partners, Inc. for a free community wellness fair and turkey giveaway — bringing together local partners to offer mental health resources, yoga, blood pressure checks, holiday produce, and more!
📍 Concordia 27, Milwaukee
📅 Saturday, Nov. 15 | 10AM–2PM
Organizations like NAMI Southeast Wisconsin, Scaling Wellness in Milwaukee, Grace Healing and Wellness, and others will be on-site supporting families ahead of the holidays.

Community Projects for Seniors is asking kids to make homemade placemats for our holiday meal deliveries on Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
Each placemat is a warm hug that goes with every hot meal delivered to seniors across Southeast Wisconsin. ❤️
🖌️ How to help:
Draw, paint, or decorate your own placemat — any paper, any size!
Add fun holiday designs, kind messages, or silly jokes!
Don’t forget to sign your first name so a senior knows who made it.
