🚍 Milwaukee Teens: Apply for the 2025 Summer Transit Teen Advocate Program! 🌟

The Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS) is inviting teens across the county to shape the future of public transit! Applications are now open for the Transit Teen Advocate Program — a summer leadership opportunity for youth ages 14 to 18.

In its third year and first as a summer experience, the program will bring together 20 teens to tour transit facilities, learn from professionals, attend field trips, and collaborate on a group project to promote public transit among their peers. 🌍🚋

💡 What You’ll Get:

A $25 stipend for meetings
A FREE WisGo card for unlimited summer rides
Access to mentorship and networking opportunities
“We’re looking for teens who will show up as they are — storytellers, community advocates, and passionate change-makers,” says Biltu Hamda, MCTS Community Outreach leader.

Three years ago, PJ, a young man who was part of their DREAM TEAM, was tragically shot and killed on October 8. In response, the president of DREAM TEAM United WI and his wife decided to create a positive change in PJ’s memory. They are funding a $2,000 scholarship in his honor, with Farina contributing an additional $500, bringing the total scholarship fund to $2,500. This will allow them to award four scholarships during the upcoming event.
