Steven Robertson "Empowering Individuals to Uncover, Cultivate, and Unleash Their Potential for Achieving Their Destiny"

Steven’s past makes him an advocate for education and the perfect youth speaker. His compelling story includes being abandoned by his father, bullied by his peers, diagnosed with a speech and language disability, and the death of his mother at a young age. The barriers of anger-management issues, low self-worth, and hopelessness that he had to overcome resonate with students experiencing similar t

raumas. As he began to respond to the “warm-demanders” in his life, Steven began to understand, realize and pursue his potential and was able to be the first in his family to graduate from college and become the respected teacher, leader, high school principal, director and mentor that he is today. Steven’s message of persistence and grit inspires youth and adult audiences as he shares his personal story. Determined to be the same “warm demander” for other youth that his mentors had been for him, Steven has devoted more than twenty years of his professional life serving youth. He counts it a privilege to inspire them to realize, refocus, rebuild and reach their academic and personal goals despite obstacles they may face. His life mission is to help students to go, succeed, and graduate from college.

“Most people are taught how to make a living.
But fewer people are taught how to build a life.

That’s why I wrote Run Win Impact.

This book is about purpose, direction, discipline, faithfulness, and impact. It’s for people who are tired of drifting, tired of just reacting to life, and ready to move with intention.

Run Win Impact helps you understand that success is not just about money, status, or comparison. Real winning is staying aligned with who you were created to be.

Inside the book, we talk about identity, endurance, consistency, purpose, mindset, impact, and taking your next step on purpose — even when life gets difficult.

This is not just motivation.
This is a framework for living.

Run with purpose.
Win through faithfulness.
Impact the world around you.

Run Win Impact is officially out now.”

I asked AI to create a sketchbook-style vision board of me, my story, my work, my faith, and the things I value.

And honestly, it made me pause.

Because when I look at these images, I see more than pictures.

I see purpose.
I see faith.
I see family.
I see sacrifice.
I see students.
I see mentoring.
I see books.
I see leadership.
I see Marquette, EOP, Pre-College, TRIO, and the work of opening doors for others.
I see the little boy, the man, the mentor, the speaker, the author, the coach, and the builder still becoming.

I see Steps On Purpose™.
I see RUN • WIN • IMPACT.
I see Mentoring on Purpose.
I see Prayers Formed by the Word of God.
I see Stevie and the Mark That Shined.
I see a life that keeps saying, “God, use what You placed in me to help somebody else.”

That is really what this is about.

Not just being seen.

But serving.
Building.
Leading.
Lifting.
Believing.
Helping others take their next step.

This reminded me that purpose is not just something you talk about.

Purpose is something you live.
Purpose is something you carry.
Purpose is something you steward.
Purpose is something you multiply.

Still building.
Still becoming.
Still believing.
Still walking with purpose.

What would show up if your life became a sketchbook vision board?

Happy 17th Birthday, Steve Ray Robertson II.

Today, I celebrate more than just the day you were born—I celebrate the young man you are becoming. From the very beginning, you’ve carried something special. Your presence brings joy, your voice carries influence, and your life reflects purpose.

Just as the Father declared, *“This is my Son, in whom I am well pleased,”* I want you to know—I am proud to be your father. Truly proud.

You are growing into a young man of wisdom, strength, and compassion. The way you communicate, the way you think, the way you create through music—you have a gift that reaches beyond you and impacts others. You don’t just enter rooms, you shift atmospheres.

I’ve watched you face challenges, and every time, you’ve risen—stronger, wiser, more focused. That kind of resilience will take you far.

On your 17th birthday, I speak this blessing over you:

*The Lord bless you and keep you.
The Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you.
The Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace.*

May this year mark new levels of growth, favor, discipline, and opportunity. Walk boldly in who you are. Stay grounded in what you’ve been taught. And never forget—you are called, you are capable, and you are covered.

I love you, son.
Keep becoming. Keep building. Keep walking in purpose.

Happy Birthday, Ray.
This will be your best year yet.

Beyond What You See — Featuring JohnRae’ Stowers

This week, I had the opportunity to sit down with JohnRaé Stowers Director of Student Support Services at Marquette University and Principal Investigator of a federal TRIO program.

JohnRae’ exemplifies leadership rooted in care, connection, and purpose. She describes herself as a caring connector — someone who cultivates relationships and supports others in becoming their best selves.

Her work reminds us that leadership is not just about outcomes — it’s about impact, relationships, and the people we uplift along the way.

There was a time in my life when I did not fully believe in myself.
But there were people who saw me not for how I was acting, but for who I could become.

They believed in me before I believed in myself.
They borrowed me their belief until mine kicked in.

That is why I am passionate about the work I do today.
Someone made an impact on my life, and that impact changed my direction.

Now I choose to believe in students the same way.
To give voice to those who feel unseen.
To remind you that you matter.

If you are struggling to believe right now, that is okay.
Sometimes borrowed belief is the spark that changes everything.

Every young man needs someone in his corner, praying for him, speaking life into him, guiding him, and reminding him of who he is — and who he’s called to be.

Son, I’m proud of you.
I see your gift.
I see your potential.

But most of all, I see the greatness inside you that hasn’t even fully shown itself yet.

Stay focused.
Stay humble.
Stay grounded.
God has more for you than you can imagine. www.36Rayball.com
