💔⚠️ Nurse Practitioner Was 6 Months Pregnant When She Was Left on the Side of the Road⚠️💔
29-year-old Vanessa Pierre was a nurse practitioner from Long Island, New York, who had so much to look forward to. She was six months pregnant with a baby girl, had already picked out a name for her daughter, and was excited about becoming a mother. But on October 23, 2020, the man who was supposed to welcome that child into the world with her, Goey Charles, took both of their lives. Around 2:50 a.m., Charles drove Vanessa's white Dodge Challenger to the side of the Horace Harding Expressway in Queens. Surveillance footage showed him eventually climbing into the backseat where Vanessa was sitting. The vehicle's interior light captured movement before Vanessa went motionless. Around 4:36 a.m., Charles dragged her lifeless body out of the vehicle, abandoned her on the sidewalk, and drove away in her car.
Nearly an hour and a half later, around 6 a.m., an MTA bus driver spotted Vanessa lying unresponsive along the roadway with a pair of gray sweatpants wrapped around her neck. Emergency responders arrived, but she was already dead. The medical examiner determined that Vanessa had been strangled. Her unborn daughter also lost her life. What should have been a beautiful new chapter of motherhood ended in an unimaginable act of domestic violence. On November 14, 2023, a jury convicted Charles of second-degree murder, and on November 29, he received the maximum sentence of 25 years to life in prison. Vanessa was building a future for herself and her baby girl, but the man she trusted took that future away from them both.
🕊️ RIP Vanessa Pierre and Her Unborn Daughter 💔
