At Deeplight, our mission is to make Live Action Role-Playing (LARP) accessible, enjoyable, and inclusive for everyone. We believe in sharing the joy of immersive storytelling and adventure with adventurers of all ages and backgrounds. Our Goals:

The Old Falls Renaissance Faire returns September 6–7 with two days of merrymaking, mayhem, and medieval marvels. Picture wandering minstrels, airborne jugglers, and storytellers spinning tales beneath the trees. The marketplace hums with the clatter of handcrafted wares, and the air smells of roast turkey legs and woodsmoke. You might catch a Shakespearean soliloquy on Sunday or a band of sea shanty singers harmonizing over pints in the Biergarten.

There’s something for every curious soul: scavenger hunts for the bold, aerialists for the awe-struck, and hidden moments just waiting to be discovered. It’s not just an event—it’s a story waiting to be told.

Before Deeplight, there was somewhere else. A home, a prison, a battlefield, a sanctuary. Every character came from somewhere—and whether they speak of it or not, that place still lingers behind their eyes.

This week, share a glimpse of the world your character left behind. Was it a land of dust and fire, a crumbling tower they once protected, or a city that forgot their name? Was it taken from them—or did they walk away by choice?

You don’t need to explain everything. Just a detail, a phrase, a memory.
Enough to remind us that no one arrives in Deeplight without a story already burning behind them.

This joyful gathering honors trees, herbs, crystals, and all the natural wonders that connect us to something deeper. Whether you’re a seasoned green witch or just feel the pull of the wild, this event is full of discovery, creativity, and connection.

In Deeplight, not all truths are spoken plainly. Some slip through the cracks in riddles, sideways glances, or muttered warnings from those who disappear by dawn.
This week, share something your character overheard—something strange, haunting, or impossible to forget.

Was it a name they thought was buried?
A phrase that shouldn’t make sense—but does?
A threat, a prophecy, or a secret too dangerous to say aloud?

It doesn’t matter if the words were true. What matters is that your character heard them—and that now they carry the weight of what might be coming.
Post a line. A whisper. A warning. Let the rumors breathe.

When your character first arrived in Deeplight, what did they expect? Maybe they came for glory, redemption, power, or escape. But over time, things changed—the people, the choices, the stories unraveled in ways they never saw coming.

This is your moment to reflect:
– What did your character believe Deeplight was, back when it all began?
– And what do they understand it to be now, after everything they’ve seen?

Maybe it was supposed to be a second chance. Maybe it was meant to be a war, and became something gentler—or something far worse. And maybe it was for new beginnings and community.

Show/ tell us the shift. The before and after.
Because Deeplight has a way of rewriting us all.

Whether you're a nature witch, herbalist, gardener, or just someone who feels called to deepen your connection with the Earth, you'll find space to explore and connect.

A dream they’ve never spoken aloud?
The memory of who they used to be—or who they still hope to become?

Tell us what spark still burns inside them. However dim, however stubborn. Sometimes, that light is all that keeps the darkness at bay.

What did your character give up to gain what they now hold? Was it a promise, a memory, a friendship that couldn’t weather the storm? Did they bury a truth, betray an ideal, or offer something precious to forces beyond reckoning?

This is a moment to reflect on the price paid. Share a glimpse of the toll your character has carried—willingly or not. And ask yourself… was it worth it?

This is a call to share the characters who defy the mold. The ones who didn't follow the usual path, who brought something weird, beautiful, or unexpected into the world.

Maybe it was the scholar who refused to use violence, or the masked figure who only spoke in riddles. Maybe it was someone who danced through danger, baked bread for enemies, or carried a lantern lit with their last hope.
