Metal Chick Podcast

I saw Hollywood Undead last year with Falling in Reverse, it had been a hot minute since I'd seen them last... It reminded me how much I love that band.
Had an amazing time at The Rave / Eagles Club with one of my favorite metal chicks!
Charlie Scene's twin sons even joined us for a song in honor of their birthday! They were the best little hype crew 😂
Video coming soon!🤘

In honor of , I thought I’d give you a peek at the beginning of something new for the Metal Chick Podcast.

I started Metal Chick in 2014, and unless I’m interviewing someone at a venue, almost all of my interviews have been done remotely.

So creating a space where a band could actually come to me had never really been on my radar.

Then a few weeks ago, I was talking with the lead singer of Imperial Fall, and he mentioned that the band would love to stop by sometime and do an in-person interview.

And that got the wheels turning.

The more I thought about it, the more I liked the idea of having a real Metal Chick studio where I could occasionally sit down with bands in person.

So I decided the larger upstairs room was getting claimed. 😂

I’m still very much in the creative design phase, but I already know I have a ton of signed merch to put on the walls. I also want to take all the band shirts I’ve collected over the years and incorporate those somehow.

Add some lighting, a couch, a chair and a few microphones, and this should turn into a pretty killer little interview space.

Target completion date is December 2026.

Now I just need to figure out what the hell to do with the giant 10x20 Metal Chick Presents banner from a few New Year’s Eve events ago. 😂

Garrett Smith - Guitarist for Reflection of Flesh

Welcome back to Season 13 of the Metal Chick Podcast!

I am kicking things off with Garrett Smith from one of my favorite local metal bands, Reflection of Flesh.

Garrett and I talk about the band's history, their thrash groove metal sound, his journey from trumpet and skateboarding to guitar, and the albums and musicians that influenced him along the way.

We also talk about Reflection of Flesh's new music, including their latest single "Souls Rain Fire," the upcoming EP, and what they have planned for getting back out on the road.

And of course, we talk Manitowoc Metal Fest at Petskull Brewing, where Reflection of Flesh is opening the main stage on Friday. With a killer lineup and a growing reputation as a destination for metal, this is one festival you definitely want to check out.

Garrett and I also discuss touring, their massive production setup, their infamous weather curse, and why the band believes in quality over quantity when it comes to playing live.

This was a hell of a fun conversation and a great way to kick off Season 13!

Make sure you check out Reflection of Flesh, listen to their music, follow them on social media and go see them live.
