NEW MUSIC REVIEW - Nature’s Pill by Wishy - Kick ass music coming from Indiana. Such a great album. Can’t wait to see them at X-Ray Arcade on 10/26/26. Check out the review below and give it a spin.

Having grown up in Indiana years ago before escaping to Chicago in the 90s, I have always enjoyed hearing about great music coming from the state… whether it be from Bloomington, Lafayette, or, in this case, Indianapolis, with the band Wishy. I spoke with my buddy Sam at Cactus Club one night, and...

NEW MUSIC REVIEW - You Say I Romanticize by Sweeping Promises - Jeremy did a review. He liked it. Can’t wait to see them at Cactus Club on 10/29/26. Check out the review below and give it a spin.

Everyone responds differently to living through these troubling times. When things get dicey, some of us like to be swaddled and soothed, while some of us need to explode and kick holes in the wall. You don’t have to be a genius to figure out which kind of person I am, which is why I’m […]

NEW MUSIC REVIEW - Who Loves The Sun by Chat Pile - Our buddy Jeremy is back with a new review. It rules. Check out the review below and give it a spin.

Who Loves The Sun by Chat Pile As a “weird guy that loves great obscure music,” I feel like I have the authority to declare that Chat Pile’s new album, ‘Who Loves the Sun‘, further solidifies the band’s place as one of the most significant torchbearers of heavy music in the late 2020s an...

NEW MUSIC REVIEW - At Least You Know What You’re Laughing At by Gash - Eau Claire band Gash is making some killer original experimental rock noise stuff with this one. Check out my review below and give it a spin.

Eau Claire is a very cool city here in Wisconsin. Xtine and I rolled through there on a road trip a couple of years back, mostly because my bladder was about to explode and we needed some snacks for our drive to Bessimer, MI. Wasn’t sure what to expect, other than maybe running into someone […]

NEW MUSIC REVIEW - Melodie by Slow Pulp - Slow Pulp is back with a new killer release. Check out my review below and give it a spin.

It’s been a while since I checked in with the Slow Pulp camp since their last release; we couldn’t get enough of them here at OKR ‘Yard’ and their show in the summer of 2025 at Cactus Club. Here comes their new release, Melodie, that just came out earlier this month…. Slow Pulp just keeps ...

NEW MUSIC REVIEW - Moonlight Regions by Creature Weather - The whole album sparkles with creativity from one track to the next. Check out my review below and give it a spin.

Milwaukee’s indie dream popsters Creature Weather‘s debut album, ‘Moonlight Regions‘ has been out since July and we have been way behind on reviews lately so bare with us. After releasing single after single since 2024, and we are OKR can’t get enough, now we have this 13 track 55 minute a...

NEW MUSIC REVIEW - It Goes On By by Westside Cowboy - Great music coming from across the waves in Manchester. Check out my review below and give it a spin.

When someone hit our inbox with “check out this twangy indie rock band” and I almost just totally disregarded the email since we have been told to check out a band with that phrase, or something like it, in their press release over 1000 times in the last few months and most of those bands […]

NEW MUSIC REVIEW - American Pyramid by Graham Hunt - Graham is back with a kick ass new release. Check out my review below and give it a spin.

Graham Hunt has officially dropped his sixth full-length record, American Pyramid, out on Run For Cover Records. On this bad boy of a record, Graham Hunt gathered an eight-piece studio band, decamped to Minnesota’s famed Pachyderm Studio, and laid down a breezy, glorious storm of fuzzed-out power ...

NEW MUSIC REVIEW - Prisoner by Prisoner - New release from the garage rockin’/ art poppin’ band from France. Check out Jeremy’s review below and give it a spin.

Like any s**t-kicking di****ad from the Lone Star State, I’ve been known to take some small pride in the fact that, whatever the state’s numerous deficiencies may be, Texas is, and always shall be, “Bigger Than France.” For those of you who don’t already know, this slogan is emblazoned on ...
