A few weeks ago, I went to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to visit the Crystal Falls Public Library. A long-time friend asked me to come up and be part of their PHOTOGRAPHY WEEK. One of the projects I assisted with was helping the kiddos make camera obscuras, the precursor to cameras. It was a neat lil project, and you need to look at all these pics to see what we were able to capture with two toilet-paper tubes, aluminum foil, and tracing paper!

is part of AmeriCorps and deserves allllll the support and FUNDING. These young women and men ARE the future leaders of our country. They are making a difference in the United States now, and will continue to do so. They know the meaning of the word "service" and a lot of pols could take a lesson from them. This was the 15th Corps in and they are GREAT.

The is a great organization who knows that our rivers and waterways are best served and protected when EVERYONE is involved - EVERYONE can be an advocate and can spread the word on how important our blue resources are! To that end, I recently co-lead a photo-walk in the Lincoln Park area, providing photo-tips and advice on how to make better photos. Last month, I got to lead a in downtown ! was an , an , and she believed that cities are for people and should be built with people in mind. To that end, Jane's Walks are citizen-led walks, to connect people with one another and with their city!
The organize our city's Walks and a LOT of them happened in June. I was so delight to host a combination meetup and Jane's Walk, and to lead folks around a handful of my fave spots in downtown!
