My delivery day is also my bake day! These loaves were baked exactly one week ago today. Typically, my sourdough stays fresh for around 10 days, but warmer weather does shorten the shelf life. Please be mindful and check for any signs of mold, as heat and humidity can speed up spoilage.

This is also new territory for me, and I’m learning right alongside you about how warmer weather affects the shelf life of homemade sourdough. Thank you to everyone who shares their experiences and feedback—it helps me learn and serve you better.

And remember, if your loaf starts to get a little stale, don’t throw it away! A quick refresh can bring it right back to life.

For those of you who are new to sourdough and wondering how to store, refresh, and enjoy it, this is for you!

I have printed sourdough care instructions that are available with every loaf purchased. You’ll find them conveniently attached to the back of the bag. The guide includes tips for storing your bread, refreshing it, freezing it, and getting the most out of every slice.

One tip I highly recommend is lightly misting or sprinkling a little water on your loaf or slice before warming it. This helps refresh the bread and brings back that wonderful texture and crust. If you’re reheating frozen slices, there is no need to add additional water, as they already retain moisture from the freezer.

And please remember—no matter how old your loaf is, it can usually be refreshed and enjoyed again! Before tossing out a stale loaf, try reviving it with a little water and heat. Sourdough is incredibly forgiving, and many loaves can be brought back to life with just a few minutes in the oven or air fryer.

Just a friendly reminder that there will be no deliveries this week while I am away on vacation.

This trip is especially meaningful to me because I’ll be spending time with family and sharing one of my favorite things with them—sourdough. I’ve been busy baking loaves for my family and even created labels in Spanish so they can better understand the ingredients and care that go into each loaf. It has been a special opportunity to share a tradition that has become such an important part of my life and business.

Thank you for supporting Rustic Rise! I appreciate each and every one of you. I’ll be be sure to notify everyone as soon as I have the next delivery date scheduled.

This month marks six months that Rustic Rise has proudly provided weekly deliveries. Thank you for your continued support throughout this journey.

Please note that there will be no delivery next week, as I will be out of town on vacation. However, you are still welcome to place an order if desired. Orders will close tomorrow at 5:00 p.m., and pickup will be available this Friday.

Available items include:
• Sourdough bread with your choice of inclusions (If ingredients are available)
• Sourdough sandwich bread
• Sourdough chocolate chip cookies 1/2 dz. or by the dozen
• Sourdough cinnamon rolls (4-pack)
