When hubby brings me ā€œjust becauseā€ flowers 🄰

It hits even harder when, in order to surprise me he needed me to not go with him, so he ended up doing the grocery run too!

With a 4th of July party and small group Sunday in the books, the house is still clean and the shopping is done, which means housewife Monday gets to be whatever I choose to make it today.

How do I take advantage of the situation? It starts with a brain dump of all of the tasks I’ve been wanting to do and/or putting them off. So far that list is 11 items deep.

Then I am using the 90 minute sprint concept I recently learned about from . My take on the idea is that I use 90 minute blocks to stay focused on the single type of tasks.

90 minute workout block, 90 minute cleaning task block, 90 minute ā€œrandom taskā€ block, etc.

I never fully appreciated just how many 90 minute task blocks I could fit into a day if I tried. This week, this is the technique I’m using. Stay tuned.

Felt like an appropriate mug to have my coffee in this morning šŸ˜

Hubby is a very happy man after seeing his beloved win the Stanley Cup for the second year in a row. What a ride.

I’m happy because he’s happy and because it means a break from hockey šŸ™ƒ

Pizza date, browsed a ton of local artist booths, and stopped for ice cream.

Interestingly, in listening to my body, I only ate about 1/2 of what I normally would have eaten at home. Same with our ice cream stop. You can have your fave foods and make weight loss work, but you have to pay close attention to your body’s signals and stop when you’re satisfied, not stuffed. šŸ”‘
Now we are home to watch the Panthers in the Stanley Cup finals.

You might be working to lose some weight or achieving some body goal, and that’s fine, but only if it’s not at the cost of living your life NOW.

Learning how to balance wanting to reach different body goals with loving the body I’m currently in has been a game changer for my confidence and quite frankly, for life in general.

Don’t wait to do the things (or wear the things) you want to do until the scale says a certain number. What would happen if you treated your life like you were ALREADY there?

How would you act? What would you wear? What is that version of you’s relationship to food?

Act that way today, and just see how much faster your goal becomes your reality.

Pizza salad!! šŸ•šŸ„—

makes an incredible pizza flavored salad kit. I wish they bottled the dressing.

Love using salad kits is the base of a meal and adding what I need to level it up and make it more nutritionally what I want.

To this salad kit base I added tenders for a protein boost as well as pizza crisps for an additional cheesy, crunchy protein, boost. Adding these ingredients to the salad, made it more aligned with what my goals are and also made it even more delicious.

It’s so easy to focus on removing things from our diet when we’re trying to lose weight and meet specific nutritional goals, but this is your reminder that sometimes it’s better to focus ADDING things rather than taking them away.

How can you add protein?

How can you add fiber?

How can you add produce?

It’s much more fun to think about adding instead of subtracting, so how can you add to your plate to make it aligned with your goals today?

This is the face of a gal who tried by this morning and my legs are TIRED! 😪

Loving that the new program (by my fave Bodi trainer) is only 25 minutes a day. This means I will feel like I will actually have the time and energy to knock out strength training AND all of my steps.

Day 3 of my 75 soft challenge is going great and I can’t wait to see progress day by day.

Now if the wildfires in Canada would stop messing with our air quality, that would be great. I’d like to go outside.
