Originally built in the 1930s, this charming Lake Minnetonka cottage has been part of one family’s story for decades. After raising five children here, the homeowners wanted to make room for the next generation—without losing the character that made the house special.

Working with Dovetail, Rehkamp Larson Architects and interior designer Sue Gartner, the 94-year-old home was thoughtfully reimagined, opening up the spaces and strengthening the connection to the lake while preserving original details like the beams, porch columns and railings.

Now, the whole family has room to gather, with the lake and outdoors beautifully woven into everyday life.
