Born on April 20th in the late 1980s in Minna, Nigeria, Beejay Danjuma (real name Benjamin Danjuma) is a gifted Nigerian recording artist whose music tells stories of resilience, culture, and passion. Now based in Liberia, Beejay continues to expand his influence across Africa and beyond with a sound that is both authentic and refreshingly original.
Beejay’s journey into music began in the church, where his voice first found purpose. Starting in the children’s choir and advancing to the adult choir by age 11, he developed a strong musical foundation built on discipline, harmony, and expression. These early experiences shaped his confidence on stage and his deep emotional connection to music.
Beyond music, Beejay is also academically accomplished. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education (B.A. Ed) in Social Studies from Nasarawa State University, reflecting his commitment to growth, knowledge, and impact values that continue to influence his artistry and life.
In 2008, Beejay officially stepped into the professional music scene with the recording of his first single. His talent soon earned him recognition on major platforms, winning and participating in respected competitions such as Abuja Mega Talent Hunt and The Campus Icon, and proudly representing Abuja on the Star Quest Reality TV Show in 2010. These milestones marked him as a determined artist with the drive to succeed
Beejay defines his sound as “Afro Salad”a rich blend of Afrobeats, Reggae, R&B, Pop, Country, and global musical influences. This fusion reflects his belief that good music knows no boundaries. His songs are soulful, melodic, and relatable, appealing to listeners from different cultures and generations.
Currently signed to Mos Move Entertainment / GPS and managed by Liberia’s iconic Mr Smith Entertainment Liberia , Beejay continues to build a strong catalog of music. While many recordings remain unreleased, his available songs can be found on Audiomack, YouTube, and all major digital streaming platforms, steadily gaining appreciation from fans.
As the first child in a family of four, born to Mr. and Mrs. Danjuma, Beejay carries a strong sense of responsibility, humility, and purpose. His story is one of steady growth, perseverance, and unwavering belief in his dream.
