Active Violent Event Train-the-Trainer Offering.

Isanti County Emergency Management, part of the Sheriff's Office, is offering training to Houses of Worship, Local Businesses, and other organizations where large groups gather.

This free training is centered around the FBI's Active Shooter Attack Prevention & Preparedness (ASAPP) program, incorporating Run-Hide-Fight tactics with basic trauma care and tourniquet application.

This is a "Train-the-Trainer" offering. Students will learn the material and bring it back to their organizations to train others. Class duration is 3.5 hours. Dates are to be determined based upon interest.

The Columbia Heights Police Department is asking for the public's help locating an abducted child. Dior Gooch is 3 weeks old. She is a black female with black

Black woman with colorful hair hair and brown eyes wearing a white top and blue bottoms. Dior was taken from her guardian’s home by 37-year-old Ashley Marie Gooch, who threatened violence toward the guardian. Ashley Gooch is 5 feet, 5 inches tall, weighs 158 pounds and has brown eyes with brown hair that has a pink braid. She was last seen wearing an orange and white sundress with a black backpack. Ashley Gooch was last seen at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 6 on foot pushing a stroller with Dior Gooch headed westbound on 37th Avenue at University Avenue in Columbia Heights. Anyone who has seen Dior or Ashley Gooch or has information about their whereabouts should call the Columbia Heights Police Department at 763-427-1212 or call 911.

Brooklyn Park SWAT High-Risk Search Warrant

On 08/06/25, at approximately 2:00 am, members of the Brooklyn Park Police Department SWAT team served a high-risk search warrant in the 7900 block of Beard Ct. N. The warrant was at the request of Brooklyn Park PD Detectives, in relation to an ongoing investigation. Patrol officers were already in the area for a shots fired incident that was unrelated to the search warrant. As a result, patrol officers already had all occupants of the home detained prior to SWAT personnel arriving. SWAT officers conducted a search of the residence to ensure no further occupants were inside, and left the residence and occupants in the care of detectives on scene.

Brooklyn Park Shots Fired
On August 5, 2025, at approximately 11:56 p.m., Brooklyn Park Police responded to the 7900 block of Beard Avenue North for reports of multiple gunshots heard in the area. Upon arrival, officers located evidence of gunfire from two separate locations. Spent shell casings were found near Beard Avenue North and Beard Court, as well as in the street near Lad Parkway and Beard Avenue North.

The suspects had fled prior to officers’ arrival, and no victims were located. However, officers discovered that several residences had been struck by gunfire. Fortunately, the occupants were unharmed.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Police requested more squads, and also recovered two guns.
