Today, the 35W Bridge over the Mississippi River and Lowry Ave Bridge will be lit up orange and white honoring April as Second Chance Month.

The State of Minnesota is committed to breaking down barriers that exist for formerly incarcerated people. On March 3, 2023, Governor Walz signed a law restoring the voting rights of over 55,000 formerly incarcerated people.

This is a step towards restorative justice for those who have been historically and systemically disenfranchised. Also, on March 22nd, Governor Walz issued a Proclamation declaring April “Second Chance Month”.

I won't be near the bridge today but if you are snap a photo and tag and on social media to spread some awareness.

Celebrate with us! It's my birthday 🎉AND one of my favorite humans on the planet is celebrating 2 years without placing a bet. Meeting her and learning that she entered recovery on my birthday feels like a pretty special gift.

Are you tired of wanting more 💰 and just ready to have it but it seems like no matter what you try, it doesn’t come, and nothing works? I used to feel the same way and I keep making it worse because I had ZERO cash confidence.

This is suuuper short notice. Why, Terra, why?

Because I prioritize self care above all else when necessary. As a result, sometimes things get out the door later than I originally planned.

The thing is, that this is the kinda stuff that used to really make me angry at myself. I’d beat myself up for not just “pushing through” and getting it done and end up a completely frazzled mess.
I’d get really scared about the consequences or even more often worry about what other people would think.

Now I embrace it this part of me that needs me to go slow some days. I do what I can with my capacity as a single human that wants to remain physically and emotionally healthy. I accept reality and embrace the joy of having my life and the peace that comes with the calm of not pushing.

This is my long way of saying...I spent a lot of time crying, talking to people who get me, resting, and reflecting on some heavy stuff and didn’t tell you all about this event I am hosting TOMORROW 🤷‍♀️ and I’m absolutely having the event because I spent the past two days refilling my cup just like I tell my clients to do!

Now let’s talk about how to create a life like this without worrying about money!

😢I got the text today. The one that explained the silence. A relapse, a slip, a jump off the wagon.

If you are ”fighting” for your version of sober today I want you to know it doesn’t have to be a fight. I want you to know that there is no burden too heavy to share with others in recovery.

We will make room for your anger, your fear, your sadness, your rage, your despair, your self doubt, your worry, your confusion, and any other feeling that’s too much to handle on your own. You don’t have to handle it in your own.

We will shine a bright light on the paths you could travel to find your way to peace, serenity, patience, acceptance, joy, belonging, compassion, and hope.

When it feels like no one understands you. We do.

We see you

We hear you

We know

We love you

Call us, message us, walk into a room, a church, a zoom, a therapists office, a peer supporter. I know it’s the last thing you want to do.

If you’re in a fight, we ARE your army...call in the troops.
