The best barbecue in Minnesota? I think so. really shines in their new brick & mortar spot in Minneapolis. It’s huge - so is the flavor and the technique here. Swipe to see what we ordered and what it cost: they have snacks and sandwiches by day, full BBQ from 4pm until it sells out. This is THE BEST PLACE to bring little kids - as there’s a playground, live music, lots of room for kids to have fun if mom and dad want to linger.

No reservations but it’s big, you can get on a list if it’s crazy, and they’ll text you. Go have a beer next door at . Also there’s a parking lot on Glenwood Ave by the Miro Apartments.

They’ve been trying different service models - we ordered via QR code, keeping the tab open and adding as we went. Easy, fast, and still plenty of people checking on us to fill water and get boxes to go.

Snowy night? We headed to a place close by - trudged through some snow - and had a great time with Tyler the bartender at the . Lots of personal attention, he talked us through some things - really a snowy night can be free therapy. Where’s your favorite neighborhood spot??

🎄 DREAM BIG 🏙️ Alyssa and I took our nieces and my sister to see Seth at NYU in New York City this weekend. I have a vivid memory of visiting my aunt when she was a student at Northern IL in DeKalb and I wanted my nieces to get that experience. So off to NYC we went - their first trip on a plane! We did all the things: Staten Island Ferry view of the Statue of Liberty, Times Square, top of One World Trade Center on a clear day, they saw a Broadway show too. But the best part was when we asked their favorite and both said seeing Seth, that maybe they could see themselves going to college in a big city. Or living there. It was fun seeing themselves scared at first and then confident on the subway and walking to get a slice at Scarr’s and a Bagel at Utopia. Just a great weekend.
