Tuesday was a fun filled day at the City of New Brighton's Hosted Adventure Race as I was DJ and MC. Obstacle courses, fire trucks spraying water for yards for the kids to stay cool, Limbo, Cha Cha Slide, Candy Throws on the hour and so much more made the day so special.

Big shout out to the City of New Brighton for putting on such a well-organized event and giving kids something fun to do during the summer days off from school.

This Week's Artist is the Indigo Girls!

The Indigo Girls are known their folk music and pioneering mainstream Q***r Spaces for artists and activism. Known for their songs like "Closer to Fine" and (my favorites) "Get Out The Map" and "Fill it Up Again." Their legacy is focused on community and their social activism towards environmentalism, Indigenous Rights, Gender Fluidity and Identity, and work against the death penalty.

Like many Q***r artists in the years before widespread acceptance of the spectrum of genders and sexualities, being private about your personal life was a strict boundary to avoid the harassment, scrutiny and homophobia at the time.
