RELEASE DAY! "Salty Dog" by Innovibrations.
This song has haunted me since I rediscovered it several months ago. The melody is captivating, the lyrics are deep and can be translated in any way you see fit.
I personally think this song is about adversity, and looking to a higher power in the face of adversity and letting that higher power take control in situations where you have no control. Look to God, find your peace, your true path....and find paradise on the other side.
The song first recorded as "A Salty Dog" in 1969 by Procol Harum was never really a "hit" for them like "Whiter Shade Of Pale" was two years before. Our interpretation is a bit different from the original, with more guitars and groove...yet still has the same mysterious chords and vibe. It features Mitch Boerner on vocals, Greg Armstrong on piano, Tommy Barbarella on strings, Matt Kirkwold on guitars, Ian Allison on bass and Billy Thommes on drums. Mixed by Chuck Alkazian and produced by Greg Armstrong.
