Who isn’t concerned.

On Saturday, April 13 we invite you to the Firehouse to join Mark Valdez, Mixed Blood’s Artistic Director, for a conversation with guests, including Elizabeth Glidden, Deputy Executive Director of the Minnesota Housing Partnership.

Do you know where you are going to live when you get old? Join us for a conversation and story swap about the current state of housing for older adults. We’ll play a new game, eat some cheesecake, and imagine a future where no one is unhoused.

Seniors are the fastest-growing demographic across the state. With a unique set of care and housing needs, we have an opportunity to reimagine and create equitable housing policies. This Chit Chat is a chance to talk about the challenges to address this need and discuss our desires for the future.

This event is research for The Pasture, a new play by Mark-n-Sparks about Senior Housing.

Kick off Pride month with some LGBTQ+ history Thursday June 1st from 7-9pm. Telling Q***r History will be partnering with the MN Historical Society and Mill City Museum to host a closing story circle event for this exhibit. Can you believe this is the MN Historical first LGBTQ+ specific exhibit! Go out to show them we want and need more of this!

Celebrate the opening of "Going Out, Coming In: LGBTQ+ Spaces in Downtown Minneapolis." The exhibit details q***r resistance, love, and identity formation amid the evolution of downtown through the 20th century.

The exhibit features sites where q***r people found or created community while addressing the systemic challenges of legal and extralegal discrimination, urban renewal, and HIV/AIDS. It is part of an ongoing partnership between Twin Cities Pride and the Minnesota Historical Society (MNHS). It is inspired by the Twin Cities LGBTQ+ History Tours developed by TC Pride and MNHS in 2022.

A cash bar and free appetizers will be available. Musical experience will be curated by DJ Michel.Be.

The event and exhibit are located in the museum’s central Mill Commons, and the exhibit is free and open to the public during regular museum hours through October 8, 2023.

"Coin-Operated Press invites you to submit to our first call for zine submissions of 2023!
💥
Anyone who has been to our workshops will have likely heard Chloe talking openly about her anxiety disorder, and here at Coin-Operated Press we know how important it is to open up dialogues around mental health. For January, our mental health month will be focusing on all things Anxiety.
💥
We welcome you to share with us your anxiety stories, self-care tips for dealing with anxiety, relatable anxious comic-strips, anxiety disorder informationals, mental health resources, living with anxiety photo-essays, and anything else that tells the story of anxiety within this zine. Together, we hope to tear away at the stigma, provide education, and create support for each other through this zine community.
💥
We are looking for: articles, illustrations, short stories, zine excerpts, photography, poetry, artwork of any medium, educational guides, posters, flyers, short essays, recipes, comic-strips, reviews, informationals, collages, and anything else you can put your imagination to.
💥
The finished zine will be A5 in size and printed in full colour.
