Took my car in today to get a repair under warranty and started to get charged for it. When I said I was told it was under warranty (two weeks ago) the guy looked at me like this when he realized I had gone 8700 miles in two weeks and honored the warranty lmao

The SPC has issued a level 4/5 Moderate Risk across portions of Indiana and Illinois tomorrow with a CIG2 tornado upgrade indicating storms will be capable of producing EF3+ tornadoes. I once again say, the ceiling of this even will be dependent on morning convection and atmospheric recovery and if storms can remain isolated. If storms become more isolated and can take full advantage of this environment we are in for a LONG day of significant tornadoes. Should these turn more linear driven the risk of strong tornadoes will still be possible, they’ll just be more embedded in the line, much harder to see, and likely shorter lived.

Please make sure you have a weather plan in place. These storms will be moving extremely fast (potentially 60mph). You won’t have much time before the storms are on top of you. I will be en route this evening to get in position.

An extremely volatile severe setup is beginning to take shape for Wednesday for already hard hit areas of Illinois and Indiana. The models are indicating an extremely rare combination of a powerhouse trough we usually see in March combing with extreme instability June is known for. Combine these over a populated area and it can have dire results.

Now, that being said. There are a lot of uncertainties in regards to how morning convection affects the atmosphere, whether there’s too much forcing and storms turn into more of a line vs isolated supercells. But, I’m here to tell you now folks. If any supercell can become isolated and take advantage of this extremely rare June parameter space buckle up. Because it will have more than enough fuel to produce significant tornadoes. Everyone needs to be VERY weather aware Wednesday afternoon.

Nearly 10,000 miles in the last two weeks later traveling from Kansas to the Dakotas to Canada and to the Midwest I’M FINALLY HEADING HO……to the airport to catch a concert at Red Rocks today before getting my car at the home base in OKC because I’m a total degenerate with no self control 😂😂

It’s no secret that I love using my drone for photography. Then there’s nights like this when I LOVE using my drone for photography. This 5 image pano of an approaching shelf cloud over Ottumwa, Iowa had my jaw on the floor as the belly of the whale overtook us and ignited with reds and oranges as the blue hour danced above!

Unbelievable scenes associated with the preliminary EF3 Kouts, Indiana as you can leave the scar etched into the earth left behind. Take note of the ground swirls indicated powerful subvorticies dancing around the bottom of the parent circulation. These kind of scars are typically only left behind from the most intense of tornadoes. Not going to be shocked if this tornado gets upgraded to EF4 eventually.
