The newest edition of Michigan Trucking Association’s statewide magazine, Strait Ahead, is on the press now and coming to you very soon. And this edition is jam-packed with terrific editorial content!

Our cover profile tells the story of a state-of-the-art training facility colloquially referred to as Michigan’s skid pad. The institution is formally called Michigan Center for Decision Driving and it’s where drivers of all skill levels are welcome to train on all things related to driving big rigs. MTA has been operating a new version of this driver skills training entity since January of 2024. You’ll want to read all about the cool things happening there.

Additionally, you’ll read about MTA launching its own chapter of Women in Motion, membership benefits, training opportunities and an exploration into TAEC’s efforts to support and pave the way for FMCSA’s newly announced National Blueprint.

In addition, it covers ATRI’s study results in repealing the federal excise tax on new truck equipment, navigating new electronic parking brake systems by NCSHP’s Trooper Brandon Johnson (his inaugural recurring department planned for each future edition), another of ATRI’s study findings revealing the nation’s top 100 bottlenecks and coverage of NCTA’s recently held and very successful Women in Trucking Summit.
