Hello everyone, my name is Peter Xiong, and I am currently in the process of deciding on a stage name. As an emerging Hmong artist, I began my music career at a relatively late stage due to initial limitations in accessing the necessary equipment. However, my passion for music has always been a constant, and I believe this is a sentiment shared by many. Growing up, I was heavily influenced by artists such as Eminem, and it was not until I was around 13 years old that I discovered DeathRhyme, which marked the beginning of my exploration into Hmong music. Although I did not write and read Hmong fluently at the time, my attendance at a Hmong school where the language was being taught sparked an interest in me. I started to appreciate Hmong rap and its unique presentation style. Initially, I kept my fondness for Hmong music to myself to avoid being perceived as different. Over time, I learned to disregard the opinions of others and embrace my true interests. Prior to finishing middle school, I had written English rap in a journal, but afterwards, I transitioned to writing in Hmong. Since then, I have written exclusively in Hmong, as it allows me to express my feelings vulnerably and create a personal connection with my music and others. My debut song was released in 2021, and while my music career is progressing slowly due to my current focus on financial stability, I plan to release more music this year. You may have seen me perform live on stage or heard my songs, and although I am still gaining experience in performing live, I always strive to deliver my best performance.
