Boo Berry's first commercial (released in 1973) features Boo Berry materializing to introduce the new blueberry flavor, while Count Chocula and Franken Berry react with jealous fright.

Legendary voice actor Paul Frees voiced Boo Berry using a high-pitched, trembling, and breathy cadence modeled directly after famous actor Peter Lorre. Paul Frees was also famous for voicing the Pillsbury Doughboy, Santa Claus in Frosty the Snowman, Boris Badenov from Rocky and Bullwinkle, Professor Ludwig Von Drake from Disney, Burgermeister Meisterburger from Rankin/Bass as well as countless other cartoon characters.

People are often consfused by his heavy chains which were inspired by Charles Dickens' A CHRISTMAS CAROL. Much like the ghost of Jacob Marley, who famously wanders the afterlife draped in heavy chains forged from his life's misdeeds, Boo Berry was designed as a classic "chained ghost" which was often attached to a box of his cereal.

I kind of prefer this fan made version of Carmella Creeper over the official version. This design feels more like it could have almost existed along side the original 70s designs. I know she was a DJ but the headphones felt like one step too far in the "Trying to be cool." type of character prop. At least they didn't give her sunglasses and a sideways trucker hat.

Did you know that a lot of people think Count Chocula's name is Alfred? Well, it's not. It all started because of a mix-up involving an internet joke where a user once edited Count Chocula's wiki page, giving him the first name "Alfred".

Before the edit was removed, the name was parroted across blogs and trivia sites, becoming widely mistaken as fact.

Further adding to the confusing, a very popular YouTube channel The Food Theory published an episode analyzing the character's backstory and claimed his legal human name was "Alfred Chakul," which he shortened to Count Chocula.

None of this was true. The character was created in 1971 simply as "Count Chocula" and nothing officially made by General Mills, has moved away from the characters signature, trademarked name.

According to the Googles, Carmella Creeper was officially discontinued in fall of 2025. Here's a fan made action figure to help ease the pain.

This DIY Mini Monster Mansion appeared on the back of boxes several years ago. Not as cool as the mail-a-way kid sized club house version from the 80s but better than nothing. How many of you built it?
