Years ago we ran a good portion of the General Mills creative business. This gave us access to the brand managers of The Monster Cereals and we'd use every opportunity to pitch fun ideas. In one case we wanted to take the original Flexi-Discs included on the back of the cereal boxes in the 70s and animate them as cartoons. This is a rough animatic of a good portion of MONSTERS GO DISCO. We never finished the animatic, nor did we get a greenlight for the budget to make the cartoons BUT we did manage to create that music track at the end which was released to the public and it absolutely is a banger.

I’m more of a Frute Brute fan, but I love all the monsters. Well, not so much Carmella Creep whose design doesn’t seem to fit in with the others. Creature Crunch (of the Milk Lagoon) seemed like the obvious next monster character type, or Bride of Franken Berry or even The Invisible Bran with red fez marshmallows.

I know this might seem strange but I personally start thinking about Halloween on August 1st. It's just 90 days, guys! Time just seems to happen too fast if I don't start thinking about the season I don't have enough time to truly enjoy it. I start planning the apple picking, pumpkin picking, listening to my halloween soundtracks and watching old commercials like this classic lost Monsters Cereals commercial from 1972.

The kids in the spot must be great grandparents by now.

This short was from a few years back in support of the MONSTER MASH cereal release of that year. Again, I find it strange that none of their voices are correct, not even Lucky the Leprechaun or the Silly Rabbit. Not sure what they were thinking there.
