Today I had the pleasure to meet with his Excellency Gov. of Garissa Nadif Jama and Mohamed Dubow aden Director resource mobilisation donor coordination and partnership County government of Garissa.

We discussed important aspects affecting the people of the Garissa and how the diaspora can positively contribute to the development of the county.

Coming back to Nairobi after a three day family visit to Garissa. During the trip, I saw my mother who is 95 years old and still in good sprit, narrating old stories, and encouraging us to keep familial bonds.

I also paid a visit to North Eastern Youth Development center at the out skirts of Garissa. The center is home to more than 190 students mostly orphans. Thanks to the brothers and sisters who founded the center with their own contributions. If you want to sponsor an orphan, it’s $50 per month for the education , food, and shelter. Please contact Dr. Ali Tawane Board of trustee chair, or Yunis Hassan who is the CEO.

I also met with the Garissa County police commissioner Mr. Amos Amanda. He is a very friendly man who is ready to tackle security issues in Garissa.
