Last night, one of the events I popped into. A little preview party for Democracy Clothing

All weekend they are out at The Journey (such a lovely space in my beloved Loring Park) previewing lots of new cuts of their denim. This was a launch, and we all got to try on the jeans to see what we were working with. I’m going to tell you guys… I consider myself a bit of a denim whisperer for other people, but their people they brought were EXCELLENT. This whole line is about inclusivitity. The first pair (that I thought I’d leave with) was more of one of my typical wide leg styles that I usually grab for. The sizing didn’t work for me in that particular style and this amazing woman actually said “no hold on! We have some that are going to look great on your petite frame” and hand delivered this straight leg style that I ended up wearing out tucked in my boots. They maybe the comfiest jeans I’ve ever put on. And they don’t have that weird stretch jean look!

Point is, if you want someone to teach you about these styles and the fit of this line in particular, head to Democracy Clothing to check the hours for the rest of the weekend. 🩷

Also, shoutout to this activation for involving so many great small local businesses AND for shining a spotlight on Dress for Success Twin Cities ♥️

An evening to celebrate Artful Living’s style issue at an iconic Summit Avenue home. Set on a majestic lot, this spectacular Colonial Revival home blends timeless architectural character with thoughtful updates designed for modern living. Home is listed by Kathryn Kennedy and is simply immaculate.

Such a beautiful evening, running into so many friends - both old and new - from the arts, fashion and design world. So many great conversations and connections as well.
One of those “isn’t it a small world?” kind of nights. Cozy warm feelings.

And on Summit Avenue? Chefs kiss.
My family has celebrated a lot of big milestones on this boulevard since I was a kid. Love any excuse to be in this neighborhood. ♥️

FOUR days to go! We’re still smiling from our rooftop gathering and Sip & Shop with the wonderful Walker Art Center Avant Garden Committee.
A huge thank-you to Serge + Jane for opening your doors and giving us such a beautiful, fun excuse to celebrate one another, catch up with familiar faces, and get to know a few fellow committee members a little better. Good company, great style, and just the right amount of shopping inspiration—consider us officially in the countdown spirit.
Now, the questions: Does everyone have their ticket? And more importantly, is everyone having as much fun putting together their looks for the night as we are?
Only 4 days until we gather again—let the outfit planning (and anticipation) continue. ✨
