"When you consider that the Twin Cities is a big enough market to support five major-league sports teams, I don't see why it can't support one major music festival, too."

So said Tim Sweetwood of C3 Presents, which will produce the Minnesota Yacht Club two days on St. Paul's Harriet Island in mid-July with artists TBA. C3 is the company behind Lollapalooza and the Austin City Limits fest, and Sweetwood himself started Atlanta's reputable Shaky Knees fest. Here's the scoop on their plans.

The Star Tribune Taste Team takes its burgers seriously. Fortunately, 2023 was packed with burger glory. High-quality beef, specially made smashing irons, thick pools of special sauce, crispy-fried onions, square upon square of American cheese and so many napkins: We braved it all to taste the best burgers in and around the Twin Cities.

It's hard to rank perfection; these are all equally stupendous and randomly listed. There's one caveat: Some of our favorites are simply memories from menus and pop-ups that are no more (greatness can be fleeting). Still, whether you're a fan of thick and juicy or skinny and crusty, there's a burger on this list worth crossing town to try.

Nothing gets our hearts pumping like the char and sizzle of a good burger. Here are the best we had this year — plus two more that we hope will return.

Here's what the band had to say (warning: expletives involved), and the reaction from the independently owned venue.

Saturday's headliner Falling in Reverse criticized the venue over the practice, common in the concert industry.

Hey, at least it's not Kenny Chesney again (who's moved over to US Bank Stadium). The Steve Miller Band is the third act on the bill here in Minneapolis (other cities got Heart or Cheap Trick). Seems like Target Field is now the classic-rock hub vs US Bank Stadium's country music foothold, with two other big rock shows already announced at the ballpark (Foo Fighters & Green Day/Pumpkins).

The Steve Miller Band will open the Aug. 19 gig, the third big rock show at the Minneapolis stadium next summer.
