One of the best sea days. This is Glacier Bay and I watched it from my balcony. If your booking Alaska chose the itinerary that includes Glacier Bay and have room service delivered to your balcony.

🏔️ ALASKA CRUISETOUR TIPS… NOW THAT I’VE DONE IT! 🚢

We just finished our Princess Connoisseur Cruisetour RB5, and now that I’ve actually DONE Alaska by land + sea, here’s how I’d recommend planning it.

🛶 Start in Fairbanks + do the Riverboat Discovery
This was a great introduction to Alaska’s history and culture, with Native Alaskan traditions, sled dogs, bush planes and life along the river.

🐻 Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge
Make sure your itinerary includes the Tundra Wilderness Tour. It goes farther into Denali’s wilderness, giving you more opportunities to see wildlife. We saw grizzly bears, moose, caribou and more!

🏔️ Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge
For me, one night here would be enough, especially if you’re lucky enough to get a clear view of Denali.

✈️ SPLURGE on Denali flightseeing + a glacier landing
One of the absolute highlights of our entire Alaska adventure. If I were picking one place to spend the extra money on the land portion, THIS would be it.

🚢 GO SOUTHBOUND!
Do the busy land portion first and let the cruise be your grand finale. After moving between lodges and exploring Alaska, getting settled onto that ship feels pretty darn good. 🥂

🧊 MAKE SURE YOUR CRUISE VISITS GLACIER BAY!
For me, this is a MUST when choosing an Alaska itinerary. The glaciers, mountains and scenery are spectacular. After all… you’re in ALASKA! You came all this way, see the glaciers! 🏔️🧊

🌊 BOOK A BALCONY CABIN
Alaska is one cruise where I think the balcony is worth it! We chose the starboard side on our southbound cruise and found it excellent. Some of our best glacier viewing happened right from our own balcony. Coffee + glaciers + no crowds = my kind of excursion. ☕️😂

🐋 JUNEAU: GO WHALE WATCHING!
Our whale watch out of Auke Bay was my TOP excursion of the cruise portion. We saw so many whales it was hard to know which direction to look, and even got to see bubble-net feeding. Absolutely incredible!

⭐ MY ALASKA SWEET SPOT:
Fairbanks + Riverboat Discovery → Denali + Tundra Wilderness Tour → Mt. McKinley → flightseeing + glacier landing → SOUTHBOUND cruise → Glacier Bay → BALCONY cabin → whale watching in Juneau.

Sometimes the best travel advice comes AFTER you’ve taken the trip and figured out what you’d keep, what you’d change and where you’d spend the extra money.

SAVE this if Alaska is on your travel list! 🏔️🐻🐋🚢

One last day at sea… and Alaska gave us the perfect send-off. 🛳️🌅🐋

Our final day aboard was exactly what we needed after an adventure-packed trip. We started with a slow morning, packing up and wondering how everything we brought somehow EXPANDED while on vacation. 😂🧳

Then lunch in the dining room came with a surprise… whales right outside the window! 🐋 Because apparently Alaska wasn’t quite finished showing off.

The afternoon was spent playing music trivia 🎶, followed by one last dinner in the dining room before ending the night exactly where we should… on our balcony watching the sunset over the water. 🌅🥂

No big excursion. No rushing around. Just one last day soaking it all in.

From glaciers and wildlife to trains, whales, mountains, ports and some pretty incredible weather, our North to Alaska adventure gave us memories we’ll be talking about for a long time. ❤️

Tomorrow we head home… but tonight, we’re giving Alaska one last look from the balcony.

What a way to end this adventure. 🏔️🛳️✨

LAST PORT STOP… and Alaska finally gave us a little rain! ☔️🐟💆‍♀️

Today in Ketchikan we divided and conquered!

🎣 The guys had one mission: catch some halibut. Rain or shine, they stuck it out and MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! Fresh halibut coming home with us! 🙌🐟

👯‍♀️ The girls had a different plan: explore Creek Street and check out the totem poles. And I’m just going to say it… a little overhyped in my opinion. 😬 And the smell of dying salmon? Let’s just say you KNOW you’re in salmon country. 😂

With the rain coming down, we decided to pivot. Back to the ship we went, where we spotted a port-day spa special and suddenly our rainy day was looking MUCH better. 💆‍♀️✨ Excellent massages and exactly what we needed after all these Alaska adventures!

Tomorrow is a sea day, which means packing, relaxing and soaking up the last little bit of this incredible North to Alaska adventure. 🏔️🛳️

Not every vacation day goes exactly as planned, especially when Mother Nature gets involved. But when this was basically our only rainy day of the trip, we have absolutely NOTHING to complain about.

We’ve had unbelievable weather, spectacular scenery, wildlife, glaciers, whales, adventures and, most importantly, memories made together. ❤️

Feeling extremely blessed…and maybe just a little spoiled by Alaska. 🥰

🐋 A WHALE of a time in Juneau, Alaska! 🐋

We headed out into Auke Bay on a quest to see a whale… Alaska apparently heard, “Bring ALL the whales.” 😂🐋

We had a whole cluster of humpbacks around us, so many that we didn’t know which direction to look! Every time someone yelled “WHALE!” heads were spinning. 👀

My favorites were the ones with the lighter, almost white markings underneath their tails. But the absolute WOW moment was watching them bubble-net feeding! We learned this isn’t something every humpback automatically knows how to do. It’s a learned behavior passed from whale to whale. Seeing it happen right in front of us was incredible.

⭐ JUNEAU TRAVEL TIP: Go SMALL for your whale-watching excursion!

We went with Gastineau Guiding aboard the Zephyr, with only about 20 people. Captain Mike and our guide clearly loved what they do, and that made the experience even better. No fighting through a huge crowd to get a view, just whales, water and a whole lot of “DID YOU SEE THAT?!” 🐋💦

Juneau definitely gave us a whale of a show!

When in Juneau… you have to try a Duck Fart at the Red Dog Saloon. 😂🦆💨🥃

Yes, that’s really what it’s called.
Yes, we ordered them.
And yes… Alaska just keeps getting more entertaining. 🤣

A little whiskey, a little Bailey’s, a little Kahlúa and a whole lot of “whose idea was this?” 😂

🚂 ALL ABOARD IN SKAGWAY! 🏔️

Today’s Alaska adventure took us aboard the White Pass & Yukon Route Railway for about three hours of jaw-dropping scenery through the mountains.

We climbed the historic White Pass Trail, passing Glacier Station, Inspiration Point and Dead Horse Gulch, rumbling through tunnels, crossing steel bridges and watching waterfalls tumble through endless spruce trees. 🌲💦

And the glacier views?! Alaska continues to remind me that sometimes the camera just can’t capture what your own eyes are seeing. 📸

My favorite part was standing out on the observation deck, getting shimmied and shaken as the train rolled down the tracks, with that cool mountain air and those unbelievable views all around us. 🚂😂

North to Alaska continues… and God’s landscapes continue to amaze us. 🙏🏔️

POV: You booked an Alaska cruise expecting to freeze… and Glacier Bay showed up at 70° 🔥🧊

Glaciers from our BALCONY with sunshine and 70-degree weather?! Alaska is seriously showing off. ☀️🏔️🚢

Yesterday Hubbard Glacier.
Today Glacier Bay.
At this point, we are officially spoiled. 😂

The glaciers were cool… but let’s just say the views were HOT. 🔥

NORTH TO ALASKA 🏔️🧊 | SEA DAY

Just when we thought Alaska couldn’t possibly show off any more… Hubbard Glacier said, “Watch this.” 🤩

Today was our first full day at sea, and I’m feeling incredibly blessed by the weather and views we’ve had on this trip.

We started up on Deck 14, bundled up and ready to catch our first glimpse of Hubbard Glacier, not knowing just how close the ship would take us. Hubbard is HUGE, stretching about 76 miles and measuring roughly 7 miles wide where it meets the sea. And unlike many glaciers, Hubbard has actually been advancing for much of the last century. 🧊

But then came the best surprise…

We realized the views from our starboard-side balcony on Deck 10 were even better. We grabbed our drinks, settled onto our own balcony and suddenly it felt like we had booked a private glacier excursion. 🥂😂

No crowds. Front-row seats. Just this massive wall of blue ice right outside our cabin.

It honestly felt like Alaska brought the glacier to us. 💙

Between seeing Denali in beautiful weather, our wildlife sightings, and now an unbelievable day at Hubbard Glacier, Alaska has been treating us VERY well. I’m starting to feel a little spoiled!

And tomorrow? Glacier Bay. 🏔️🧊
