🏔️ ALASKA 2026 IS OFFICIALLY ON THE CALENDAR! 🛳️

One of my favorite parts of travel is the planning. Sometimes the anticipation is almost as much fun as the trip itself.

This August we’ll be heading north for a bucket-list Alaska adventure that combines both a land tour and cruise experience. Our itinerary includes:

🐻 Fairbanks & North Pole
🏔️ Denali National Park
🚙 Black Diamond ATV Adventure
✈️ Grand Denali Flightseeing with Glacier Landing
🚂 Wilderness Rail Journey
🧊 Hubbard Glacier
🧊 Glacier Bay National Park
🚂 White Pass Railway
🐋 Whale Watching in Juneau
🌲 Rainforest Walk in Ketchikan
🎣 Salmon & Halibut Fishing for the guys
🛳️ 7 nights aboard the Island Princess

I share these itineraries not because I have all the answers, but because I hope they inspire someone to stop saying “someday” and start planning their own adventure.

Travel doesn’t have to be perfect. It just has to begin.

Have you been to Alaska? What’s the one thing we absolutely shouldn’t miss? ⬇️

Next big trip on the docket Alaska baby:

Planning an Alaska trip is a little different than planning Paris.

Instead of researching cafés and shopping streets, I’m researching bears, glaciers, whales, and how I packed enough layers. 🤣

August will be here before we know it and our Alaska Land & Sea adventure is starting to feel real. The excursions are booked, the itinerary is coming together, and now the fun part begins… deciding what makes the suitcase.

Tell me: if you’ve been to Alaska, what’s the one thing I absolutely can’t miss? 🏔️🐻🚂

🍀 The Burren, Ireland 🇮🇪

If someone told me I’d find one of Ireland’s most fascinating landscapes looking like a scene from another planet, I probably wouldn’t have believed them.

The Burren along the Wild Atlantic Way is a rugged limestone wonder where rocky terrain stretches for miles, yet somehow wildflowers thrive between the cracks. It’s a place where every turn reveals another incredible view and reminds you just how diverse Ireland’s beauty really is.

📍 Have you ever visited a place that completely surprised you?

Drop a ☘️ in the comments if Ireland is on your bucket list! 🇮🇪✨

✈️ Patty’s Travel Edit

One of my favorite travel upgrades isn’t in the air… it’s waiting for me when I land.

I love pre-arranging private airport transfers, and on our recent trip to Dublin, I used Blacklane.

There’s just something fun about walking through passport control, passing the crowds at the taxi stand, and seeing a driver holding a sign with your name on it. It makes you feel like your vacation has officially begun. 😎

After an overnight flight, the last thing I want to do is figure out transportation, drag luggage through a train station, or wait in a long taxi queue.

Why I like booking ahead:

✅ Your driver is waiting when you arrive
✅ No guessing where to go
✅ Fixed pricing before your trip
✅ Help with luggage
✅ A smooth, stress-free start to your vacation

When we landed in Dublin, our driver was there waiting, helped with our bags, and had us on the way to the hotel in no time. No stress, no confusion, and no standing in line wondering how much the ride would cost.

Is it the cheapest way to get from the airport? Probably not.

Is it one of my favorite travel splurges for starting a trip on the right foot? Absolutely.

Tell me your travel style:

🚖 Private transfer all the way
🚕 Taxi/Uber when I arrive
🚆 Public transportation for me
💰 Whatever is cheapest

Day 7 in Dublin 🇮🇪

We made it through Day 7 in Dublin. Today was our “slow down” day, although we still managed to pack in plenty of fun.

We spent part of the day wandering through the Temple Bar district, popping into a few traditional pubs to enjoy live Irish music. There’s just something about hearing those songs played in a cozy pub that makes you feel like you’re experiencing the real Ireland.

One of today’s highlights was the Irish Rock ‘n’ Roll Tour. We visited the rehearsal spaces connected to legendary Irish artists including U2, Sinéad O’Connor, Thin Lizzy, The Cranberries, Rory Gallagher, and The Pogues. We also stopped by a recording studio where countless artists have recorded over the years, including Michael Jackson.

Dublin has been an absolute blast. Even on a Sunday afternoon at 4:00, the Temple Bar area was buzzing with music, pints of Guinness, and people joining in on the Irish cheer. The energy here is contagious.

Tomorrow we head back to Minnesota with hearts full of memories. From the stunning landscapes and coastal villages to the warm people and lively pubs, Ireland has been everything we hoped it would be and more.

I hope these last 7 days have inspired you to add Ireland to your bucket list, and if they have, I’d love to hear about it in the comments. 🍀🇮🇪

Now it’s time to pack up, get a good night’s sleep, and prepare for our flight home.

Until next time, Ireland… Sláinte! 🍻💚🇮🇪

06/07/2026

Day 6 Ireland adventure continues in Howth for a 1/2 day tour. Our first Irish coffee and a comedian show in the Temple Bar area.
