Reconsidering Development is an open-access, interdisciplinary e-journal based at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. Through this journal, we hope to create an open and equitable space for dialogue and discussion concerning the theory and practice of international development. Reconsidering Development encourages submissions that reflect diverse perspectives, underrepresented voices, and creative approaches for reconsidering the broader field of development.

If would like to publish with the Journal, keep an eye on our website in the Fall of 2023 for our new Call for Papers.

We are also always looking for new editors and members for our editorial board! If you are interested in joining us at RDJ, please shoot us an email at [email protected] 📩

In this issue, our contributors engage with self-knowledge as a reflexive practice — as an approach to express their ‘embodied’ voices, and their diverse experiences by writing on policy, academic discourse, and their own shared memories.

We have extended our call for papers, but just for critical book reviews. Reviews should be of books on development and aid, economics, education, the environment, health, and language, or related topics. Reviews can cover one book or several related titles, preferably those published in the last two years. Ideally, reviews should critically engage with the book, address its strengths and weaknesses, and compare the theory and ideas with other work, instead of being merely a summary of content. Reviews should not exceed 1,000 words in length.

The deadline for submissions is May 1, 2017.

Reviews must be submitted through the Submit Article link on the Reconsidering Development website: http://pubs.lib.umn.edu/reconsidering/

Reminder: The deadline is quickly approaching for submitting research papers, policy briefs, book reviews, and media to our Spring 2017 issue. All submissions are due by February 15, see the call for papers for more information.
