Empowered With Susie 🌟Helping beautiful souls accept & express themselves through photographs I am a photographer in the Minot, ND area.

I have been asked what is my favorite genre to photograph, I used to say I specialize in women's portraiture and glamor with a passion for helping women accept and love themselves as they are, now I tell them I love telling women's stories. whether it is renewing the love they have for themselves after a life of caring for those closest to them or showing the strength, Love and confidence that com

es from becoming a mom for the first time, the second time or fifth time telling her story back to her to show her what those who love her see. I have been photographing women in the most intimate ways for over 5 years now. Intimate (boudoir) portraiture is not so much about taking your cloths so much as it is about photographing a side of them they may not always share in their public lives, their intimate side. I am a member of Association of International Boudoir Photographers, I am constantly attending workshops and other educational venues to improve my photography and business. I have a private womens only group where i share more of my work, private discussions as well as offering Lingerie and Clothing that tips towards the sexy side for purchase. please feel free to ask to join if you are female and over 18. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1656069837965579/

✨ What does freedom even mean anymore?

July always brings up complicated feelings. I grew up with the fireworks, the lake days, grilled foods, watermelon and mom’s potato salad—and while those memories are real, so is the discomfort I feel now.
So this month, I’m reclaiming freedom. Not the red, white, and blue kind. But the quiet, radical, everyday kind.

Freedom to create.
Freedom to heal.
Freedom to show up as I really am.
Freedom to build a business that helps others do the same.
Freedom from the noise that says I’m not enough.

If you’ve ever felt like “freedom” was a privilege you weren’t given—you’re not alone. I’m walking this road with you. Let’s redefine it, together. 💫

I’d love to hear from you—how are you reclaiming freedom in your life this month? Drop a comment, share a story, or send me a DM. Let’s create space for real talk and support.”

Honoring Juneteenth.

Today marks the day in 1865 when the last enslaved Black Americans in Galveston, Texas were told they were free—more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.

As a white person, I know this isn’t my holiday to center—but it is my responsibility to acknowledge the truth: that the enslavement of Black people was brutal, dehumanizing, and foundational to the systems we still live with today.

Juneteenth is a celebration of Black freedom and joy—but it’s also a reminder that justice was delayed, and continues to be.

I’m spending today listening, learning, and reflecting on how I can show up more fully in the ongoing fight for racial justice. Black liberation is not a history lesson—it’s a present-day necessity.

They told me being quiet and kind made me weak.
That softness wasn’t strength.
But I’ve learned: kindness isn’t passivity—it’s resistance.

Patriarchy says cruelty is necessary.
But we are here—watching this political moment unfold—because too many believed that lie.

Kindness is radical. Gentleness is power. I refuse to harden.

I meant to post something on Friday… then Sunday… but my thoughts have been in a bit of a limbo. So instead, I’m sharing this older photo that popped up as a memory today—a portrait I took of my beautiful friend Joey a few years ago.
There’s something about the quiet strength in this image that matches the mood I’ve been in.
Sometimes it’s okay to pause, reflect, and just let the feelings be. 💫

I didn’t have a lightning bolt moment.
No big “I’m back!”
Just a soft shift. A whisper:
“What if creating could feel good again?”

Grief changed me. And healing asked me to pause, to go still, to stop performing. I didn’t know I needed anything more than rest.

But lately, I’ve been letting the light in.
I’m beginning to imagine again.

I’m not rushing. I’m not trying to “catch up.”
I’m just beginning. Gently.

If you’re in your own quiet season, I wrote a blog post for you. It's called Starting to Feel the Spark Again. It’s now live on my site 💛

Back in December, I booked a shoot space with no model lined up—just a pull to create.
Last minute, I asked a friend to step in. She showed up with a suitcase of outfits, and we chose looks that felt like her—not bo***ir, not for the male gaze, but honest and expressive.

As we looked through the images, her first comments weren’t about the clothes. They were about her chin, her arm—those little parts so many of us are conditioned to criticize first.

But our loved ones? They see us from every angle and love us as we are.

This shoot reminded me why I do this: to hold space for femme-identifying folks to be seen fully and beautifully.

I'm still learning, still evolving—and looking for more folks who want to co-create. Model calls coming soon. 💛

Hello friends,
I wrote a new blog again (lol) — feel free to check it out if you’d like!
https://www.susanlundmark.com/blog/the-voice-in-the-mirror

Last night, I was thinking about the things we consider flaws… and some parts of my body that I don’t even usually think about.

Like my double chin —
It’s the angle people see when they’re looking up at me.
I never love it in photos.
But my loved ones? They’ve seen this for years.
And they still choose love over judgment every time.

My hands —
I rarely think about them unless I get hives (which happens more than I’d like).
But they’ve held cameras, comforted friends, stirred soup, worked soil, created things.
I’ve never hated them... but I also haven’t fully appreciated them either.
They’ve done so many amazing, important jobs.

The texture of my hair —
It’s always been called “hard to manage.” Too frizzy, too much, not what society calls beautiful.
I spent years trying to tame it into something more acceptable.
Now, I’m learning to let it just… be.
To give it the love and care it actually needs.

The gap in my teeth —
I used to hate it. Honestly, sometimes I still do.
I could fix it. But I’ve had other priorities—healing, growing, loving.
And this smile? It’s still mine. Still real.

We all have parts of ourselves we were taught to hide or shrink.
But here’s the truth:
Your body is not a mistake.
Your texture, your angles, your stories—they matter.

What if we started loving ourselves the way our people already do?
