From the archives: a project we filmed with Eric Matt | Travel & Overland Photographer a while back.

Old meets new, but the goal is the same. Get out there. And have a good time.

Last year, we helped Clark Fork Preparatory High School tell their story and talk about their mission to bring a new independent high school to Missoula. To, in their words, foster intellectual curiosity and commitment to community in a small-school setting.

Now, we’re happy to share that on August 31st, they’ve opened their doors with seven students!

Western Montana Growers Cooperative pools the outputs of several producers in the region to supply grocery stores, schools, and restaurants.

Decades before the co-op existed, Mary Stranahan funded a feasibility study to determine whether the model could work here.

WMGC grew out of that question. We filmed their story for the High Stakes Foundation’s grantee series.

Free Cycles is a bike shop the way a library is just a room with some books in it.

Yes, you can walk in with a broken bike and roll out on a working one, or you can volunteer for 90 minutes then snag a build-a-bike. But you can also find a concert, a community meeting, a play (a reason to be around people). Free Cycles is actually a community center.

That’s why the High Stakes Foundation is one of their funders, and why we spent time filming there for HSF’s grantee story series.

Full story, linked in bio.
