What does that mean? It means that life can be scary, but that’s okay.

I remember being a senior, basically one generation ago, and it’s an exciting but kind of scary time. So many changes, but with big changes comes a whole world of possibilities. I enjoy photographing seniors because these kids give me hope for the world. Lots of big ideas and big dreams coming together to wrap up a chapter.

What does that mean? It means that the person comes before the photograph. We cannot exist in the world without impacting others, and those connections are awesome.

This is of , and 20+ years ago her mother was my english teacher. One of the quiet and enjoyable things about doing photography is seeing the graceful growing of people over time. Seeing her entire family go from kids and “Mrs. Hughes” to writers, parents, grandparents, and business owners has been an absolute joy. I hate getting old, but I love growing up.

What does that mean? It means that people shouldn’t feel forced to smile or asked to pretend. Love is love and I dont need to coach anyone on how to love their partner.

This photo of .mt and .wavra is a great representation of that. These two are naturals. McKenna’s real smile in the back with a subtle swing of her earring (and gently out of focus. Come at me, photography rule purists!) and Riley’s content happiness is perfect. This is them, nobody else.

What does that mean? It means that I strive to honor the people I work with and the world we live in with truth. Photography should be authentic above all else.

This photo was a moment at a wedding where I saw the bride pause for a quick moment with her mother. The moments at a wedding day that mean the most are never the planned ones. Be present in your wedding day. It’s not about photography. Photography is about truth.

and Alden tied the knot yesterday on the banks of the Blackfoot River and I’m honored they selected me to photograph their love. Thankful that the our paths crossed and look forward to when they cross again. Congratulations, you two!

and got married up at the .silver.knot this weekend and I’m so thankful these two came into my life. Karissa made hand-made pottery for every guest and Jacob 3D printed and painted tons of the decorations. Next level DIY. And they are huge fans so you know they make good choices!
