I have a rare opportunity to help design a sacred sweat lodge space at Oasis, and it has been a true blessing to meet the visionary creator of this land. He has poured his heart and soul into this property for more than six years, building it with patience, devotion, and deep intention. Now, Oasis is reaching the point where it is ready to welcome the people who will be blessed by the healing that comes from this place—just a few miles from the equator.
Oasis is a rare retreat property in the Andes of Ecuador, built specifically for healing work, ceremony, and guided transformation.
Near the creek—where the soul of the land truly resides—Oasis is home to a brand new sacred sweat lodge space, a temazcal (Tosca Mahal), built directly into the stone.
Sweat lodge ceremony has long been one of the most powerful healing traditions in the Americas: a space for purification, nervous-system reset, prayer, release, and renewal. This structure was created to support that work with warmth, intention, and deep natural grounding.
Down by the creek, a large glamping area adds an additional layer of nature-immersed lodging, with bunks and solar showers for guests who want to stay close to the earth. The creek itself provides the perfect natural complement: cold plunge opportunities, fresh water energy, and wide open space for meditation, breathwork, yoga, and morning integration practices.
Also near the creek is another rare healing feature of Oasis: a walk-in pyramid stone chamber infused with thousands of crystals. Designed as a true light-based healing device, sunlight enters and refracts inward—surrounding the body in radiant crystal illumination.
Higher on the property—roughly 300 feet above the creek—sits the lodging and main retreat infrastructure: brand new cabins and top-tier accommodations, built for comfort and ease. The retreat includes two large indoor kitchens for group meals and retreat support, expansive indoor gathering areas with comfortable couches and meeting space, reliable hot water, beautiful showers, and modern bathrooms. Every element is designed for rest and restoration.
And at the very top of the land is the golden crown of Oasis: a stunning glass-walled classroom with 360-degree valley views. It is a perfect space for teaching, ceremony integration, group circles, and morning practice. It feels like being inside a snow globe of mountains and light—without the snow, of course—held in complete stillness.
One of the most unique advantages of Oasis is its proximity to Cuenca, Ecuador—just 30 minutes away. Cuenca is widely known as one of the most beautiful, peaceful, and medically advanced cities in Latin America. It is home to highly trained doctors, dentists, and specialists, with modern clinics and exceptional care—often at less than half the cost of comparable procedures in the United States.
For many guests, this creates a rare opportunity: to combine a deep healing retreat experience with practical health support, whether that means dental work, preventative care, restorative treatments, or long-delayed procedures that suddenly become affordable.
Oasis can realistically and comfortably host up to 20 people, making it an ideal retreat site for experienced facilitators ready to bring groups for powerful healing experiences in a land designed for transformation.
