I’ve seen a lot of beautiful canyons, so I honestly didn’t expect this one to surprise me.
But somehow it completely won me over.
Green River Overlook felt unreal.

Nature on California trails is beautiful, wild… and sometimes unsettling.

I found this Red Diamond Rattlesnake while hiking Morgan Trail near San Mateo Peak.
The crushed head and missing rattle probably meant someone killed it and took the tail.

These snakes are actually important for the ecosystem and usually avoid people.

One of those moments you don’t forget.
