What does it take to race on the Isle of Man and at the level required to compete in the Manx Grand Prix? It takes months and months of planning and a desire to do something other racers just don't understand. And for our American riders it's even more complicated, and expensive. Luckily there's people like Eric Wilson, Dave Hewson and Robbie Silvester who make it possible for our boys to come over and fulfill those dreams.
Eric along with McCrums Motorcycles and a little help from Dave Hewson Road Racing by Obsession Engineering LTD put together competitive and reliable bikes for hire and also the support to run them. Spending the morning in the caravan with them gave me a nice glimpse into the operation. It's a lot of work but it's also something they love. They're supporting Stuart Clotworthy, Dave Thomas and Rick Kay for this event. Oh and as a bit of a warning they're always up for a bit of crack and a laugh.
Robbie and VRS Racing are the race crew for Pete Murray and Andy Skov. Robbie and his team are no strangers to the TT paddock and the machines they provide are some of the cleanest and best prepared machines at the event. It's all business here and their professionalism shows in every aspect of their operation. Looking forward to some better weather to let everyone get out and put all this effort and dedication to work.
