Police say Dante Jovon Core, a freshman defensive back from Fort Walton Beach, Florida, was taken into custody on December 26th following a traffic stop in Andalusia.

According to authorities, officers stopped a vehicle they say was traveling more than 110 miles per hour and did not have a visible license plate. During the stop, officers reported smelling ma*****na, which led to a search of the vehicle.

An Ole Miss football player was arrested in Alabama just days before the Rebels are set to play in the Sugar Bowl.

Assault

On Thursday, December 25, 2025, at approximately 8:51 p.m., officers responded to the 2400 block of Boyett Street in reference to a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim had already been transported to a local hospital for injuries.

Upon further investigation, officers discovered a male subject was involved in a verbal altercation with the victim when the subject produced a gun and shot him.

This remains an active investigation.

Trafficking Synthetic Ma*****na, Chemical Endangerment of a Child, Possession of Ma*****na 2nd, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, DV Assault

On Thursday, December 25, 2025, at approximately 10:30 p.m., officers responded to the 2400 block of Brewton Avenue in reference to a domestic incident.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a female victim with visible injuries following an altercation inside of the home.

Upon further investigation, officers discovered a known male subject physically assaulted the female. Drugs were discovered inside of the home near a child.

Terrance Fayne, 34, and Jacobie Fayne, 29, were arrested and transported to Metro Jail on their appropriate charges.

DV Assault

On Thursday, December 25, 2025, at approximately 11:00 p.m., officers responded to the 3000 block of Louise Drive N. in reference to an assault.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim was cut by a known male subject during an altercation. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The subject remained on scene and was detained.

Christopher Brooks, 55, was arrested and transported to Metro Jail.

FROM THE MOBILE POLICE BLOTTER 🚨:

Burglary, Violation of Protection Order, DV 3rd

On Thursday, December 25, 2025, at approximately 2:19 p.m., officers responded to the 90 block of Acacia Street in reference to a report of a cutting. Upon arrival, officers discovered a female victim was cut by a known male subject during an altercation at a home.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Upon further investigation, discovered the subject forced his way into the home before cutting a female inside with a knife.

Petrez Conner, 25, was arrested and transported to Metro Jail.
