🎭 The proposed City of Mobile Mardi Gras float agreement is back before Mobile City Council

The held-over item would authorize an agreement with Mirth Artists, LLC to construct a City Mardi Gras float, with a cost not to exceed $55,725.

As Mobile continues preparing for future Carnival seasons, this is one item worth watching—not only for the investment involved, but for what the float could represent about our city and its Mardi Gras tradition.

🚨 MARDI GRAS 2027 UPDATE 🚨

The City of Mobile has announced that Regions Arena will not host Mardi Gras events in 2027.

Weather-related construction delays have moved the arena’s anticipated opening to spring 2027. Rather than open in a limited capacity during Carnival season, the City is choosing to complete the arena properly and give Mobile the grand opening it deserves.

Mardi Gras 2027 is still on—the change affects only events planned for Regions Arena.

Disappointing news, but hopefully the wait will be worth it. 💜💚💛
