This hour, we select Jackson Browne's "Hold Out" album from 1980. Hear about this album, 2 full tracks from it and snippets of the others. There's also songs from artists he has worked with or have covered songs of his including James Taylor, Bonnie Raitt, Larry Norman, Tom Rush, David Lindley, Warren Zevon and The Byrds. James and I wanted to simultaneously announce that we are ending our radio shows Boppin' With Beth and Catching A Wave soon in an effort to manage increasing anxiety and stress. James did Rockabilly N Blues Radio Hour for years and then went right into Catching A Wave. That was a radio show every week with no break for 10 1/2 years. I started Boppin' With Beth in September 2020 and haven't missed a week since....even with James' week long hospital stay back in 2022, which was a super sad and stressful time.

We're super passionate about music and keeping heritage and new music alive but we're also paying attention to our well beings. We need the weekly radio show break which may or may not be permanent. As you can imagine, a tremendous amount of planning, pre-production, final production, distribution, promotion, etc. went into each show every single week. We want to thank all the record labels, publicists, artists, radio affiliates and listeners for the tremendous amount of support! It's something we'll never forget and cherish the friendships we've made. Now, we get to just listen and enjoy all the great music out there!

I'm proud of the fun shows we did and all the different segments. For those that don't know, I worked at a radio station (that the name will not be mentioned) that carried Rockabilly N Blues Radio Hour and it was my absolute favorite show. James and I officially met in person in 2015 and we became the very best of friends from that day forward. It blossomed into this deep love that we have BUT we have never had a chance to just enjoy each other without the pressure and stress of radio shows, promos, playlists, etc.

This has been our hobby and our passion. It's been a free thing that we have done. Although, we put more time into our radio shows than most people with full time jobs. Speaking of, I have one of those too.... which as you might imagine, is pretty crazy and stressful in itself. I have gotten a couple of promotions since I have been there which I am very happy about. I would like to continue to climb the ladder and see where it takes me. I have been there for 6 months, so, all of my shows since starting there have been super hard to do just because there has been less time to research and plan out the shows. It's just a lot. I was still able to do it and I still loved every second of it BUT James and I were feeling somewhat stressed and honestly, a little burnt out. One important thing to note: this isn't a one sided thing....and neither one of us talked the other one into stopping, it's something we have been talking about for a while now.

I'm sure we'll do something new at some point but it will be stress-free with no timelines...and like always...just for the love of the music! The dates for the final shows will be 09-13-24 for Boppin' With Beth and 09-16-24 for Catching A Wave! Thanks so much for listening and as always, keep on Boppin'!

Our thoughts are with Los Lonely Boys during this very difficult time. 😢😢😢💔

It is with heavy hearts that we bear the very sad and tragic news that our ‘Daddy,’ Enrique Garza Sr., has transitioned from this earth. As he would say, he has ‘graduated’ to the final level. A beacon of truth and light, he was the greatest man we ever knew and the inspiration behind all we do, not just in music but in life. He will forever remain in our hearts and minds, and we will continue to honor his life and memory throughout our daily lives. Que descanse con El Creador para siempre.

Our Daddy’s sons, Henry, Jojo and Ringo Garza
