Admittedly, I took a break from wearing my hoodie/hat (even talked the wife out of it on a day when the media fire was the hottest). HOWEVER….. It is not the responsibility of the diehard fan to speak for a 108 yr old organization. We love GO BLUE and that doesn’t mean organizational corruption, inept leaders, or the destruction of families! Go. Blue.

Sports fervor aside, I’d like to speak to my friends, family, and followers who started believing somewhere along the way that your fandom is a life requirement. Even if it’s your Alma mater, your favorite Teams, or just a love for sports in general, these are not personality traits and who you are or should be can’t be dictated by school colors and team jerseys. The minute you start allowing commentary or the outcome of a game to affect your attitude for an entire week, you might be in real emotional trouble.

These scandals will likely be forgotten about you and the general media in a matter of months but the life impact goes much further, and for some, the temporary decisions could have eternal consequences. Get perspective. Take a beat. Touch grass. Meditate on what matters. Invest in the eternal. Don’t spend hours focused on somebody else’s house and neglect your own.
