When the government shut down cut off food 🍎 assistance, a group of concerned Monroe citizens decided to be part of the solution.💡Within days, they built 3 little food pantries with refurbished cabinet 🗄️ finds, scraps of wood 🪵 and shingles. 🏊With season-best times in the 200- and 500-yard freestyle events, Monroe-New Glarus senior Megan Chapman punched her fourth ticket to the WIAA Division 1 State Swimming Meet on Saturday, Nov. 15 at the Waukesha South Natatorium. She was one of 10 🧀🐴Cheese Knights representing MNG at a WIAA Division 1 Sectional at Verona High School on Saturday, Nov. 8, where eight swimmers posted lifetime- or season-best times.

Top-seeded Lake Country Lutheran used the most important 8 minutes of a football game — the last four minutes of the first half and the first four minutes of the second half — to put away 3-seed New Glarus 34-21 in a WIAA Division 5 Level 3 game on Friday, Nov. 7. In that time, the Lightning intercepted a Glarner Knight pass, turned it into a score, and took six minutes off the clock to score again in the third quarter. Despite the season-ending loss, New Glarus head coach DJ Schuett was proud of his team for compiling a 10-2 record, claiming its first conference championship since 2017 and making Level 3 for the first time in program history.

🏊FINAL: WIAA Division 1 Verona Sectional
Monroe-New Glarus competed against 13 other teams and their swimmers for individual spots at the WIAA State Swim Meet to be held Saturday, Nov. 15. The Cheese Knights' Megan Chapman punched her fourth ticket to state in both the 200-yard and 500-yard freestyle events, posting season-best times in doing so. Nearly every other swimmer also achieved either season-best or personal-best times in the sectional.

🏈FINAL: 3-seed New Glarus 21, 1-seed Lake Country Lutheran 34
The Glarner Knights' historic season came to an end in a WIAA Division 5 Level 3 football game Friday, Nov. 7. New Glarus had momentum much of the first half, scoring on its first drive, before an interception and score by LCL in the final two minutes reversed the tides. The Glarner Knights finish the season 10-2 earning their first conference championship since 2017 and making Level 3 for the first time in program history.
